最近発売されたベスト版に触発されて、このアルバムを引っ張り出して聞いてみました。
わたしはこのころのUAが一番好きです。
日本語の全然分からないイギリス人の私の旦那が、「歌詞は全然わからないけど、すごくいいね」とこのアルバムを気に入っていました。
何年経ってもいいですね。

このCDはUAのアルバムの中で一番好きです。特に、12曲目の「親子パシャパシャ」は最も好きな曲の一つ。幸せにさせてくれるメロディーと歌詞で完璧なものです。いつ聞いても落ち着いてきますね。自然の素晴らしさと愛の純粋な喜びがとてもよく伝わってくる曲。「ミルキーティー」も素敵だ！UAの歌詞はまるで詩みたいそのまま読んでも感動します。イギリス人の僕にとっては、これが全然日本の音楽を聴いたことのない友達に一番紹介したいアルバムです。Wonderful - especially Oyako Pasha Pasha and Milky Tea. Gentle, calming melodies and lyrics.

UAを知りたいならこの作品から聴くべきだろう。UAが大地に、空に、恋人に、友人に、寛大な心でもって賛辞を贈っている。つくずく詩的なアーティストだと思う。朝本浩文などのプロデューサーとの相性も抜群だ。「悲しみジョニー」も「貴方の一番好きな歌」もUAの心象風景を見事に表現している。最高の一言に尽きるのではないか。世捨て人UAの世界が凝縮されている。「歌謡曲」という言葉は最近ほとんど使われなくなったが、UAは現存する数少ない歌謡歌手のひとりだろう。UAが美空ひばりさんのトリュビュートに参加したというのも興味深い。日本人に生まれてきて良かった、と思わされる一枚。一生付き合える普遍的な”唄”がここにある。
