広島出身の３人組アイドルユニット？らしいです。が、表題でもある
『リニアモーターガール』は、アイドルという肩書きが必要無い
程に良く出来たエレクトロニカナンバー。

聞けばプロデューサーはあのCapsuleの中田ヤスタカ氏。納得。
ロイクソップの1stを連想とさせる透明感のあるピコピコ音と、
そこにシンクロするようにリフレインされるヴォーカルは、
一聴すると中々頭から離れない。

アイドル好きな方、音楽通の方の双方に向けて開かれた作品ではないで
しょうか。

メジャー第一弾にして、損なわれなかったあのクオリティー。
電子音で構成される４次元のレトロ未来予想図にて笑顔で跳ね回る３人の綺麗な歌声そしてメロディーがカタツムリ管に響いて離れないこと請け合いの１０分ちょい。
一回買ってみるに越したことは無いでしょう。

5.0 out of 5 stars 「LOVE」の意味合いは他より軽い（？）けれど、忘れてほしくない 『リニアモーターガール』, 2008/5/24
『リニアモーターガール』・・・これがメジャーデビュー曲であるというのが、個人的に、なんかすごくいいんですよね。
基本体力のないアーティストならば、ここで終わりになりかねないほど、軌道からずれてる曲だと思うけれど、ファーストシングルでこれをやらないでどうするんだっていう重要性を内に秘めているような感じもします。そして、「大好きか」と聞かれれば即答はひかえたい、不思議な１曲です。
コンプリート・ベストから入って、Ｐｅｒｆｕｍｅを聴きはじめた当初は、『コンピューターシティ』以降がメインという感じで、とくにインディーズ期の楽曲の魅力とかには全く気づかずにいて、こんな重度のファンの人（笑）に自分がなるとは考えてもみなかったのですが、「ＧＡＭＥ」に完璧に魅了されると同時に、過去の曲が（自分の中で）どんどんＯＫに、いや最高になっていくなか、この『リニアモーターガール』とは、今もそんな変わらない仲で。いい距離感と言わせてもらおうか。そんな魅力のある曲です。
ただ、この曲のＰＶは「イッパツマン」さんと違い、「私ならもっとチープなものにするのになあ」とつねづね思っています。
リニア高架下のリサイクルショップで、買い物をするＰｅｒｆｕｍｅ。近郊都市の夜、客も品揃えもまばらな店内で、トースターとかハンディ・シュレッダーとかを手に、レジ前に並ぶ黒い３人。そんなイメージの延々と繰り返される光景が脳裏に浮かびます。

『ファンデーション』は彼女達のダンス・パフォーマンスも含め、大好きな１曲。『ビタミンドロップ』の流れをくむドライなヴォーカル、穏やかな速度感、優美な構成など、聴く度に心をうばわれます。

そして『コンピューター ドライビング』、もう字数もないので、音と歌と言葉が、本当に輝いていて、ほんとうに素敵な曲だ、と言うにとどめておきたいと思います。


３曲すべて、「コンプリートベスト」に入っているわけですが、このシングルを最近になって購入しました。
他でもないこの３曲が、１枚のシングルとして収まっているというのを知ったとき、ちょっと感動しました。
そしてジャケットもいいことだし、Ｐｅｒｆｕｍｅの歴史の１ページとして、中田さん、そして木の子さんへの敬意を込めて、手元に置いておこうと思いました。
