5000円前後の開放型としては必ずといっていいほど名前が出る機種です。特筆したいのが良好な装着感です。イヤーバッドは耳を覆うタイプで側圧も弱く、眼鏡をかけている私でもまったく苦にならず、ヘッドホンを着けていることを忘れてしまうほどです。音質は、低域の迫力より高域の美しさ重視のAKGらしい音です。難点は、ボディがやや大型でデザインが格好悪いので、外では使えないこと。高級ヘッドホンを聴きなれている人にとっては、篭って聞こえがちなことです。とはいえ、この価格でこの音は絶対見逃せません。私はいくつかのヘッドホンを持っていますが、室内で通常使うヘッドホンはいつもこれです。

耳を完全に覆う大型のヘッドホーンなのに、装着するとあっけないほで軽く、側圧も弱いので、装着感は快適です。主にｉｐｏｄに接続してクラシック、ジャズなどを聞いています。まだエイジングが終わっていないので、はっきりはいえませんが、音につやがあり、いろいろの楽器の音がきれいに分離して聞こえます。高、低音は十分出ている感じですが、低音がときには少しぼんぼんする（倍音が出ている？）ようです。（以上はＨＤ６５０と対比しての感想です。）一言でいえば、きれいな音を楽しむタイプといえるのではないでしょうか。
　その後ヘッドホーンアンプに接続して試してみましたが、ｉｐｏｄに接続した場合とほぼ同じ感じ、すなわちＨＤ６５０よりメリハリがあるという感じでした。

ポータブル機器向けではないので地味な存在ですが、コストバランスから
見れば、なかなか優秀なホームユースモデル。

音の傾向は、やや高域寄り。開放型らしいヌケと響きの良い高域が特徴的。
量感は少し薄めでパワフルさはありませんが、艶のある「綺麗」な音。

音源側がドンシャリ傾向だったりすると、ちょっと高音が耳に障る事もあ
りますが、この価格帯に多い低域の不自然な強調はないので、クセはなく
どんなジャンルでもそれなりに鳴らしますが、アコースティック系の楽曲
の方が得意な印象。

装着感は、本体が非常に軽く側圧も低いので非常に軽く良好。ヘッドホン
に不慣れな人でも、それほど違和感なく使えると思います。少々難点なの
はイヤーパッドがツルツルのレザー調なので、皮脂や汗が付きやすい事。

見た目は少々チープで、手に持つとカタカタと安っぽい音はするし質感も
あまり良くありません、ただ、決して雑な作りではないので限られたコス
トの内で、肝心の「音」の部分に注力し、他の部分は割り切ったと思えば
好感が持てます。
