60GBもあるので、音楽以外にも画像、ビデオなど色々楽しめます。手持ちのメディアを全部取り込みできるのが良いです。podcastingでインターネット上の情報を定期的に取り込める機能も、他のオーディオにはないユニークな機能です。音楽を管理する付属ソフトItunesの出来がすばらしく、管理が大変楽です。

電池のもちは、画面を操作しながらであれば、６，７時間程度しか持ちませんので、頻繁に充電必要です。あと、表面に傷がつきやすいので、気になる方は、ケース若しくはシールで保護しましょう。
電池のもちがよくないため、星はマイナス1です。

ビデオは非常にきれいに映ります。ただバッテリーの消耗が激しく、3~4時間くらいで充電が必要。
ムービーもミュージックビデオにジャンル分けすると、映像を出さず音楽だけを聴くことができます。これは非常に便利。
iTuneでは、テレビ番組、ミュージックビデオ、ムービー・・・とジャンル分けできるようになっていますが、実際今はムービーとミュージックビデオのみ振り分け可能。ミュージックビデオでは歌手やアルバム毎にソート可能ですが、ムービーでは振り分け機能はなく、ムービー数が多くなると再生時に探すときがちょっと大変。次のiTuneアップデートに期待！
なお今回のiPodはよくフリーズします。ホイールのMENU部と中央部を同時に押すことでiPodは再起動可能ですが、よく再起動しているような気がします。
・・・とはいえトータルでは非常に満足しています。単なるミュージックプレーヤーからアミューズメント端末に変身。飛行機の中とかでも重宝しますよ。

iPodの長所はもちろん、そのデザインと転送ソフトのiTunesの使いやすさ、そしてiTunes Storeだろうと思います。
しかし短所もあります。使ってみて感じた短所をいくつか挙げてみます。まず、低音が弱いことです。
よく音質が悪いと言われる原因はここにあるんじゃないでしょうか。
次にイコライザ。これは存在する理由がわかりません。
というのも、まるで使える品質ではない。使うとたいてい音が激しく割れるのです。
低音の弱さを補おうとしても、イコライザは役にはたちません。
そして傷のつきやすさ。CDの裏のように、いとも簡単に傷がつきます。
それを防ぎたいならケースと保護フィルムは必須でしょう。
次に、シンプルの弊害というか、シャッフルやリピートというよく使うであろう機能も、
いちいち一番最初の画面に戻って、設定という項目から設定しなくてはなりません。
そして最後に、液晶の表示できる色数の問題です。動画を見ていたりすると、
ソースによってはかなりひどいことになります。

かなり便利ではあるし、外でしか使わないということもあって自分としては満足してます。
しかし、静かな場所で落ち着いて聴くには結構厳しいと思いました。
