　カーティス・フラーのトロンボーンはイイですね。ブルーノートとはまた一味違って・・・さすが名盤と言われるだけあって、つい聞きたくなってしまいます。ピアノに名盤の陰の立て役者トミー・フラナガンが入っていたりしてますますイイ。一曲目がやはり名曲なのですが、他の曲も絶対良いので、値段も安いし一度は聞いておかないといけないと思います。

30年位前京都の大学に通っていた頃、初めて買ったジャズのレコードがこのブルースエットでした。それ以来ロックしか聴かなかった私の人生にジャズという音楽は欠かせなくなりました。それほどこのアルバムの印象は新鮮で強烈でした。ジャズの入門としてこのアルバムがよく引き合いに出されますが、当然と言うべきでしょう。モダンジャズ史上永遠の名作だと思います。私とジャズが出会うきっかけを作ってくれたのがこのアルバムです。

今まで聴いていたのがステレオ盤だったので、聴いてビックリ！元はモノラルだったのですね。でもそんなことはどうでも良いくらい、音が素晴らしいです。くもりがなく最近の録音かと思うくらいです。特に音にこだわっている人、お薦めです。
