柴田淳はどちらかと言えば低い声の持ち主なのですが、どんな曲でも日本語をとても丁寧に歌っているのがよくわかります。すべてを自らが作詞・作曲しているのですが、ピアノを主に、やや地味なバックに独特なハスキーボイスに乗せたバラードは往年のキャロル・キングやジャニス・イアンを連想させるものがあります。
このベスト盤は０１年のデビュー「ぼくの味方」からの０５年の「幻」までのシングル曲を網羅したアルバム。曲順も発表順と同じで、デビューからの彼女の足跡を辿ることができますが、今振り返ると不思議なことに自らを「僕」として表現した曲が１１曲中８曲もあるのですよね。また彼女はブレス音を残しつつ歌っていて、飾らない心の奥の生々しい気持ちをここに感じることができます。
私にはとりわけ、デビュー曲「ぼくの味方」と「月光浴」、「片思い」などが印象深く、とりわけ自分の恋する気持ちを切々と歌い上げる「片思い」は名曲です。‘これ以上私をいじめないで’というフレーズにこの曲のすべてが凝縮されていると思います。
彼女には不思議と昼ドラに起用された曲が３曲もあり、タイアップ曲も多数あるようです。本来ならもっとメジャーな地位を築いても良さそうなのですが、なぜか知名度も低い。こんな人こそＪ−ＰＯＰの旗手として有名になってほしいものです。

デビューから現在までのシングル曲11曲を発売順にまとめたベストアルバム。
初めて聞かれる方にオススメのアルバムです。

また、音質的にもすぺての曲のバランスを取り直してあり、そのことによって僕の味方などはとても聞きやすくなっています。
オーディオ的にも録音が良いのでオススメです！

聴いたことない方はこの一枚からしばじゅんをはじめてみてはいかがですか？
