2005年7月からスタートしたフジテレビ系ドラマのオリジナル・サントラ。海上保安庁、海難救助の最前線である“潜水士”(海猿)たちの熱いドラマを彩る音楽を担当しているのは『WATER BOYS』や映画版でもお馴染みの佐藤直紀だ。

オープニングテーマのCourageから始まる壮大なサウンドトラック。印象的な曲が多いですが、
Open Armsで彩られた映画の青春群像とは違う、現実の様々な困難に立ち向かう勇気、その先に求める
希望を感じるオープニングは17曲中3つの異なるバージョンが収録されています。

このCDに寄せた制作プロデューサー臼井さんの「仙崎大輔が常に困難に出くわしても　
”好きなことに純粋に向かっていく”姿は、我々の希望です。」という言葉が音楽以上に印象的です。
自分がダイビングをしていた時、ふと海底から眺めたジャケット写真の様な陽の光が射す美しい海を見て
感じた純粋な思い。きっと仙崎たちも純粋に海が好きで、だからこそ次々と襲ってくる現実にも立ち向かって
いける、そんな思いを伝えてくれるサウンドトラックだと思います。

最後に収録されているOcean~Inst.ver.~はこのドラマの世界そのものです。
彼らの日々を描くこのドラマは、面白いとか楽しいとかには無縁ですが、計り知れない勇気と希望を感じます。
こんな素晴らしいサウンドを得て、これからも主演の伊藤英明さんらキャストの皆さんや製作スタッフに大切に
この海猿の世界を育てて欲しいと思います。

映画・ドラマと毎回欠かさず見ていますが、本当に音楽はドラマにふさわしい壮大なスケールを感じさせるサウンドになっており、最高です。特に、B'Z のOCEANのオーケストラバージョンが最高です。ドラマの感動がよみがえります。このドラマの魅力はなんていったって、「ひたむきな純粋さ」伊藤英明・加藤あいの演技力は最高!伊藤英明最高!来年の映画も楽しみにしています。

映画版のサウンドトラックと併用して、昨日買ったばかりの原作を読みながら聴くと、とても良いです。映画、ＴＶ、原作それぞれの海猿を楽しんでいます、車のＢＧＭとしてもお勧めです。でもＴＶ版の池澤が殉職してしまったのがショック！もっと仲村トオルを見ていたかったです。
