なぜこんなに評価が低いのでしょうか??このアルバムには、これまでのソウルフライには希薄だった『暴力性』があります。メタル的な、鋭角な音がズキズキと耳に突き刺さります。リードギターのソロも増えました。しかしこれまでのソウルフライらしさが失われているわけではありません。楽曲はとても実験的かつ聴きやすいです。後半でもだれることはなく『Fuel The Hate』『Staystrong』で一気に昇華し、『SOULFLY5』のみずみずしい音で癒されます。初めて聞いたとき、In Flamesの『Come Clarity』を聞いたときのような新鮮さ・気迫を感じました。個人的には『ソウルフライ』と並ぶ傑作です。いえ、それだけでなく、メタル界全体でも後々に名盤と語り継がれる作品でしょう。再評価を待ちます。

前作『Prorhecy』は僕個人首をひねさせられた感じでしたが、本作『Dark Agas』は前作に比べて良い感じで好きです。
歌詞を見る限り、シンガーのマックス・カヴァレラはかなり怒りまくっています。
不気味なイントロ“The Dark Ages”から2曲目の“Babylon”から7曲目の“Frontlines”までは激しく、8曲目の“Innerspirit”から民族音楽から始まる“10曲目”Riotstarter”は個人的意見だけど、少々おとなしくなっている感じです。
悪い内容のアルバムではありません。興味ある人は買ってみてください。

「３」以降マックスの声はしょぼくなった。批判ではなく事実だ。
アルバムとしては前作、前々作より良い。
