久しぶりに有森博のアルバムを聴く事ができた。
今回は大曲であるムソルグスキーの展覧会の絵を中心に、ロシアの作曲家の小品が集められた作り手の思慮深さをうかがえる構成となっている。

有森の表現は実に逞しい。
ムソルグスキーの作品には、ホロヴィッツ、アシュケナージをはじめ名演に事欠かないが、有森の録音はその中でなお存在感を示せる質の高さがあり、かつ個性的である。
本演奏の第一の特徴はピアノの音色そのものである。
いかにも一本芯の通った、重さを感じさせながらも和音の響きは熟慮されている。
そもそもムソルグスキーが題材としたハルトマンの絵画は風刺的で、社会性に富んだ内容を持っていた。
それを踏まえ、当時の芸術家が蓄えたエネルギーを慎重に解釈して解法していく作業を有森はここで行なっている。
そうして聴かれる演奏は、ダイナミックで美しいが、どこか暗さを常に秘めている。

もう一つ。
このアルバムを通して聴くと、そこになぜかフレデリック・ショパンの面影が浮かぶのだ。
ショパンはポーランドの作曲家だが、パン・スラヴ主義的にはロシアの音楽家とも言えるし、ショパンの功績はどこよりも強くロシアで引き継がれていく。
ここに収められたあまたの魅力的なロシア小品は、いずれもショパンの影響を感じさせるのだ。
こうなると、ぜひ有森には満を持してショパンにも取り組んでもらいたいと思う。
