ポリス・スティングの最高傑作。
「リアルタイム初体験ポリス」であるせいでもあるが、２曲目などは今でも聞くとかなりハイになれる。
１曲目はもちろん、スティングがソロになっても演奏する「ウォーキングオン〜」や「ブリングオン〜」、さらに名曲「ベッズツービッグ〜」も収録。
もちろん、スタジオワークや成熟度では「シンクロ〜」や「ゴースト〜」に譲るが、頂点に登りつめようとする彼らの勢いと才能、そして英国ならではのダークさが結実。
信条であるシンプルさとハイレベルな演奏も炸裂している。とくにスチュワートの異常なドラミングも堪能できる。

シンクロニシティを経た今でも、ポリスらしいサウンド、と言えばこのアルバムを
思い浮かべる人が多いのではないでしょうか。
「見つめていたい」が出るまでは（出てからも）ポリスの代表曲であった
「孤独のメッセージ」で幕を開けるセカンド・アルバム。
「ブリング・オン・ザ・ナイト」「ウォーキング・オン・ザ・ムーン」など、
独特の切迫感や浮遊感のただよう名盤です。
