　最近、いろんなところでトリビュートが出されて流行っていますね。ルーサーのように亡くなって追悼されたり、久保田利伸さんのように再評価という場合もありますよね。このトリビュートアルバムが他のものと異なっているのは、元音源をサンプリングしたり、アレンジして新しい物を作ってるということ。再評価＋再構築って感じですかね。
　スライはファンクの中でもロックの要素が強いグループで、ロックの人々からも熱烈なリスペクトを受けていて、AerosmithのSteven Tylerやmaroon 5が参加してることからもよく分かります。正直Steven Tylerの12は痺れた。この2ショットはヤバイです。
　やっぱりサンプリングはヒップホップグループのうまさが目立ちますね。今をときめくBEPのwill参加の1、ルーツ3なんてcoolです。組み合わせとして11のCHUCK D,D’ANGELO&ISAAC HAYESなんてのもすごい組み合わせです。
　注文をつけるならSlyの直系でもあるプリンスが参加して欲しかった。アルバム制作で忙しかったのかな。でもいいアルバムです、格好いい。自分の好きなアーティストが参加してたから買ってみた人は、ぜひSlyも聞いてね。個人的にはStandが最高のアルバムだと思います。

もうクレジット見ただけでも興奮しっぱなしです！
もともと米国のスターバックスでのみ流通していたという
Sly & Family Stoneのトリビュート盤がいよいよ正式リリースとなります。

もう見てもらえればわかるんですが、このメンツの豪華さ！
（曲目に関しては言うまでもありません。強いて言えばM'LadyやHot Fun In The Summertimeとかも聴きたかったけど。。。）

更に特徴として普通にカバーするのではなく、Slyの音源テープを元に演奏を被せたり、リミックスしたり・・・という
全く新しい発想のトリビュート・アルバムなのです！
僕も耳にしましたが、D'AngeloとIsaac Hayesの歌声にChuck Dのラップが絡むTr.-11なんてもう、たまりませんよ！

こういった性格の作品の認知度も高まった昨今、このアルバムが今年の大きな話題となる事は間違いないと思います。

もともとスライが大好きだったので
｢どうアレンジされるのかな…｣と思いながらおそるおそる購入しました。
全体的にとてもカッコ良く仕上がっていて素敵でした。
ＢＥＰ、ジャネット他、豪華アーティスト満載なので
スライ好きな人もアレンジしたアーティストが好きな人も楽しめるのではないでしょうか？
