Bozzio氏曰く「ザッパ以来最も困難なプロジェクト」と語るこの作品。曲調はかなり現代音楽色が強く、そこに彼のお気に入りのストラビンスキー的要素や民俗音楽調の旋律なども加わり聴くごとに新たな発見があります。ドラムの方は大半が両足オスティナート+両手でのメロディーというプレイ。オーケストラとのユニゾンも随所に聴けて、この作品の最大の聴き所だと思います。

すご〜く久しぶりでTerry Bozzioのアルバムを買った。
本作、テクニック的にはもの凄いことをやっており、まねをしようという気持ちさえ起こりませんが、扱っている音楽が、なんというか現代音楽というか、クラシックとの競演というか、映画のサントラというか、間違ってもロックアルバムではありません。
例えばZappa in New YorkやU.K、VAIやJeff Beck 's Guitar Shopのような、ロック的なスリルを楽しみたい向き、特に10代、20代にはお勧めではありません。
ロックから音楽を聴き始めたが、年齢を経て、ロック以外も色々聴いて「まぁロック以外もいいんじゃない？クラシックも曲によって和むよなぁ」といった心の余裕を持った30代以上にはお勧めです。
Terry Bozzioに何を期待するかで評価は変わってきますが、小生はこれはこれで良い音楽ですし、読書中のBGMとしてはもってこいですが、ROCKを期待していたので☆3つとさせていただきます。
