達郎を聴いて約25年。『ライドオンタイム』からオンタイムで聴き続けてきたが、今回の『ソノリテ』１度通して聴いてみてガックリ。続けてリピート再生しようとも思わない初のアルバム。。。
SSBのニューアルバム特集である程度予習していたが、あの打ち込みの音は、はっきり言って私には受け入れられなかった。シングルリリース曲を収録することは善しとしても、楽曲の自体の魅力のの乏しさと、デジタルでプログラミングされた平坦なサウンド、ボーカルも以前のアルバムに比べてバックのサウンドとマッチしていない。重厚な多重コーラスも影を潜め、おまけにオーケストラをバックにしたスタンダードも全くもって不要（そういうアルバムは別にリリースしてくださいな）。
円熟とかコンテンポラリーといえば聞こえが良いが、アルバムとしての出来栄えははっきり言ってイマイチ！これが進化した達郎サウンドというのであれば、もう聴くことはないかもしれない。。。
現在ではコンピュータ録音というのは常識かもしれないが、基本はバンドサウンドで録られたものが聴きたい。

~前半はデモテープかと思うほどに音が薄い曲が続く。正直、買って失敗したかと思ってしまった。達郎の持ち味である「ゴージャスなサウンド」が微塵もない。サウンドが軽いのではなく薄いのだ。
ところが後半になるといつもの分厚い達郎サウンドの曲が続く。これはどういうことなのか。なぜ全曲そうしなかったのか。達郎ほどのミュージシャンが手抜きでアルバ~~ムを作ったとは思えないが、前半は明らかに完成度は50％と言わざるをえない。

クレジットを見ると、前半の曲はすべて達郎が一人で作っている。当然ドラムもベースも打ち込みが中心で、コーラスもほとんどなし。後半はいつものメンバーが顔を揃え、生の演奏によるものが中心となっている。いままでの達郎ならばたとえ打ち込みといえど相当な多重トラックを使~~って分厚いサウンドを作り出していた。今回のこのアッサリ振りは一体どうしたのか。この程度のサウンドでは残念ながらレンタルで充分と思われても仕方ない。前作に比べてはっきり見劣りする出来映え。（前半の曲）

達郎ファンであるからこそ、あえて批評しました。アナタはこんなもんじゃないはず。というかなんなのあの薄っぺらなアレンジは。全曲キチン~~とアレンジする時間がなかったのかなあ。あと一年待たされてよかったから完全なのを出して欲しかった。~

達郎氏は、日本を代表する音楽博士として、音楽をカテゴライズしすぎなのではという気になりました．ラジオで”年をとり、俺は何を言われても気にしなくなった．”とおっしゃってましたが、その言葉の通りのアルバムです．やりたい事をやるという自由度が芸術という研ぎ澄まされた世界でどこまで許されるかは、今後の彼の活動をファンとして暖かく見守るしかないでしょう．
