アリスタ時代の彼女のアルバムから数曲ずつを選んで編集したベスト盤。ＵＫ盤だけあって、ＵＫでのヒット曲を中心とした選曲になっているが、結構親切。現在入手しやすいアルバム（「Dionne」「Friends in love」「Heartbreaker」「Friends」「Love power」「Friends can be lovers」）からは少なめに、廃盤で入手しにくいアルバム（「No night so long」「Hot! live & otherwise」「How many times can we say goodbye」「Finder of lost loves」）「からは多めにという工夫がなされている。特に「Hot! live & otherwise」からは「otherwise」、すなわちスタジオ録音の５曲はすべて収録されていて、このうち「Dedicate this heart」は、私の記憶では初めてＣＤ化されたのではないかと思う。８９年に発売されたグレイテスト・ヒッツでの新録音３曲も収録。その代わり、「Sings Cole Porter」からは「Night and day」たった１曲、「Aquqrela do Brasil」からは１曲も収録されていない。まあ、入手しやすさと、この２枚のアルバムが特殊な企画ものだったことを考えると、私としてはさほど気にはならない。収録曲を考えれば、３枚組でこのお値段ならかって損はなし。ただし、以下の２点はご承知おきを。
1ソングライターのクレジットはあるが、プロデューサーやミュージシャンのクレジットがないので、そのあたりを知りたい人は不満が残るかも。
2「Dejya vu」はシングルバージョンではなくアルバムバージョンでした。

「珠玉の」という言葉があります。
しかし、実際には滅多に「本当」に「珠玉」のものには出会いません。
このアリスタのコンピレーションはその珠玉が、驚くべきことに５２曲！！で、この価格「儲けた！！」（笑）
私は、セリーヌ・ディオン、モニカ、パティ・オースティン、パティ・ラベル、アンジェラ・ウィンブッシュ、シャナイアなどのすばらしい歌手の大ファンですが、その中でも、ディオンヌ・ワーウィックの素晴らしさが思い浮かびます。
なんと言うか、「大きい」「優美」
私はセリーヌのアルバムでも時には曲をスキップしてしまうときがありますが、Sorry Celine、この中には１回もありません。
これは、「本当に歌が好きなあなた」のためのアルバムだと確信します。

ただし、このイギリスソニー盤は、まったく説明がなく、ただ曲名だけしかありません。そんなの関係ないですか？

これは７０年代終わりから、８０年前半の中心の選曲となっています。すごく聞きたかった、LUTHER VANDOROSS ﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭｰｽのmichael mcdonald作のi can let you goが入っていてよ！（音はﾏｲｸの原曲がよいけど、懐かしさでよしです）。他にもmichael jackson,doobie,carole bayer sagerなどのカバーもﾀﾞﾝｻﾌﾞﾙだし、お得意のduet balladsも満載です。まあ、とにかく買って損はなし。女性の方、よいＢＧＭにも、好きな人と過ごす時にも、よろしいでっせ。
