いまさら『MOD』なんて括りもおこがましい、日本が誇るべきグレイト・バンド、THE COLLECTORS。そんな事言いながらも、原点回帰のような、目に見えるカタチでの『MOD』モード全開な、最近の振れ方にめちゃくちゃ喜んでる僕もいたりしますが。このアルバムはそんな方向性の極北(失礼)なアプローチ、60's〜80'sのMODS〜NEO MODSアンセムを日本語でカヴァー(もちろん作詞は加藤ひさし)。個人的見解だけど、例えるならThe Whoのアルバム『A Quick One』と、全体の質感というか匂いが一緒に感じる。『My Generation』じゃなくて『A Quick One』な感じですよ。『Rock』でなくて『Pop』に振れてます。加藤さんの書く日本語詞も、そのあたりかなり影響してるんでしょうが、そのバランス、落としどころが最高です。演奏・アレンジは全力ど直球ストレート。痺れるね。ベストは1曲目の『Time For Action／Secret Affair』。本気で家飛び出して走りだしちゃいそうよ。

王様の直訳ロックも好きだが（「一緒にするな！」と言わないで）、加藤ひさしの和訳”モッド”ロックはもっと好きだ

コレクターズのヒストリーＤＶＤでは、本ＣＤについての詳細はオミットしていたが「リリーのおもかげ」「心のひとみ」や（本ＣＤには収録されていないが）「恋はヒートウェイブ」「サイケデリック・パーク」「シャ・ラ・ラ・ラ・リー」など加藤ひさしの和訳カバーは、詞、演奏共にオリジナルと肩を並べるクオリティーとなっている。

セルフ和訳カバーもカッコイイ！ミニアルバムでもいいから続編をリリースして欲しいなぁ

Mods を代表する名曲を、オリジナル日本語歌詞で日本を代表するMods Band、コレクターズが料理します。これはもはや彼らのオリジナルアルバムと言ってもいいぐらいの出来です。
