   生まれつき体が小さく、いつ死ぬかわからない奇病を抱えて生きるサイモン（イアン・マイケル・スミス）と、彼の用心棒的存在でもある親友のジョー（ジョゼフ・マゼロ）。やがて、ある事件をきっかけにジョーは自分の実の父親を探し、サイモンはこの世に生を受けた自分の使命とは何かを考えるようになっていく。
   ジョン・アーヴィングの『オーエンのために祈りを』を土台に、脚本家出身のマーク・スティーヴン・ジョンソン監督が手掛けたヒューマン・ドラマ。いわゆる難病ものだが明るくウィットを利かせた作りになっているのがよく、また信仰に根差した神々の問題にも辛口で触れているあたりが妙味だ。ふたりの少年の好演も忘れ難い余韻を残してくれている。（的田也寸志）

みんなに見てほしい映画です。

生きるって、いろいろな苦しみや辛いことがありますが、本当に辛いのは「自分が何のために生きているのかを知らず、そして、その人生を生き抜くことができないこと」ではないかと思います。

主人公のサイモンは、自分自身の存在を信じ続け、そして、その人生を全うしました。その姿に、悲しみではなく、すばらしさを感じて何度見ても涙してしまいます。本当に多くの人に見てほしいと思う映画です。

とにかく、観ると号泣してしまう大好きな映画を一本。

生まれつき体が小さく、いつ死ぬかわからない奇病を抱えて生きるサイモンと彼の親友のジョーが、病気と自分の父親探しから「自分が生まれてきた意味」を見つけようとする姿を描いた一本。

脚本は、ジョン・アーヴィングの「オーエンのために祈りを」がベースになっています。同じクリスチャンとして、サイモンの信仰に根差したセリフは胸に刺さるものがありました。

ただ、ただ「泣ける」という一本で、言葉に表現できない一本です。すばらしい一本です。

異教徒から見ると、少し表面的というかとって付けたというか。

障害者だからこそ持ちえた信仰。
奇跡のような出来事。
神は確かに存在する。
本質（この映画が言いたい事）はこれだけだと思います。

あとは「見せ方」の問題です。
これは確かに上手いし、心地よい。
