1960年代のポップスの名曲集とも言えるこのＣＤには、懐かしい曲の数々が収められています。

かつてビートルズを越えたグループがあったことを、ご存知でしたか？ ＴＶ番組の「ザ・モンキーズ」を覚えているという人は、私のように５０歳を越えた方でしょうね。
イギリスのビートルズの人気にあやかり、アメリカのショービジネスのプロデューサーが、オーディションを企画し、全米から４人の若者を選び、ＴＶ番組のためグループを結成させました。それが、「ザ・モンキーズ」です。ここに収録されている「モンキーズのテーマ」は、勿論大ヒットしました。

また同様に、ベンチャーズが演奏する「ダイアモンド・ヘッド」もその時代の世相を現すような曲ですね。当時は「エレキブーム」で日本中「テケテケテケテケ」というサウンドが大流行の時代でした。ベンチャーズは、その代表的なグループで一番人気があり、エレキバンドは皆、ベンチャーズの音楽をコピーしていました。とても分かりやすい特徴のあるサウンドでした。

ジリオラ・チンクエッティが歌った1969年のサンレモ音楽祭の入賞曲「雨」は、日本でも大ヒットしました。この曲は、カンツォーネという音楽ジャンルのイメージそのままの明るさがあります。イントロ部分の印象的なマイナー入りから転調し、メジャーに持っていく曲想も鮮やかでした。最近でもトヨタ「Vitz」のCMに「雨」が使われていますね。

映画『ゴースト』で使用されていた「アンチェインド・メロディ」も良いですね。懐かしさが音楽中に一杯詰まっています。

その他、その曲にまつわる思い出を一つ一つ書いても書ききれないくらいです。60年代ポップスの名曲の数々が2枚のＣＤに54曲も収録されています。どの曲も青春の淡い思い出と重なっています。
