　細野さんの音楽には、昔から、いい意味である種の軽快さというか風通しのよさがありました（その特徴は、ときに重苦しいほどにいろんなアイデアの詰めこまれた教授の音楽と並ぶと、特に際立っていた）が、「メゾン・ド・ヒミコ 」のサントラは、その軽快さが前面に出た作品と言えるでしょう。

　雰囲気としては、モナド時代の「Medium Composition」とか、「Omnisightseeing 」とか、コシミハルさんとのコラボ作品「SWING SLOW 」なんかに近くて、「ランチタイム・ミュージック」的な要素が強いのですが、よく聴いていると、Sketch Show でやったエレクトロニカ的な技法とか、「COCHIN MOON 」を思わせる瞑想的な要素とか、細野さんがこれまで培ったいろんな技の断片も発見できます。また、そういういろんな技が、これ見よがしにではなく、さりげなくしぶ~く使われているところが、いかにも細野さんらしい感じがします。

　強烈なインパクトはありませんが、BGM として聴いていると、つい心地よくてずっと聴き続けてしまう、という感じの作品です。

おもちゃ箱系のエレクトロニカ、ラウンジ系、エキゾチック系、逆回転系（？）など、細野氏のバラエティーに富んだ音楽性が楽しめる作品に仕上がっています。不思議で静かな異国情緒を漂わせた曲が多いです。楽器の音のバリエーションも耳を楽しませてくれます。本当の意味での無国籍な音楽と言えましょう。OMNI SIGHT SEEINGやSWING SLOWが好きな人に特にお薦めです。

細野さんの音に対する向き合い方が強く感じられる作品。
人間の皮をずるっと向いて本音だけを取り出したらこんな音になりました、と言っているみたいな感じ。
なんともあけすけで、大らかで、それでいて繊細な音とリズムに不思議な感動を覚える。
又、ＤＩＳＣ２を聴いていると映画がもう一度見たくなる。
映画で使用された園まりの「逢いたくて逢いたくて」やドボルザークの「我が母のおしえたまいし歌」、筒井康隆のナレーションなどが結構心に沁みる。
ＤＶＤ買おうかな・・・。
