旗取り合戦というシンプルなルールで、誰にでも楽しめるマルチプレイヤー戦場シューティング。
やられても一定時間で復活でき、マップ表示もあるので迷子にもならず、初めてでも参加しやすい。
戦車、装甲車、バギー、ヘリ、飛行機などの操作も簡略化されていて、慣れるのも早い。

様々なプレイヤーがごちゃごちゃと入り乱れた戦場は、時として統一感を欠いてしまい、
ゲームとしての駆け引き、達成感は他のゲームに比べて少し弱い気がするが、
美しく臨場感満点のグラフィックとサウンド、ストレスが無いゲームプレイは戦場ごっことして最高だと思う。
野戦砲の集中砲火の爆音と衝撃の中、伏せてひたすら祈るのみの時間といったら・・・

重く使い勝手が悪いネットワーク管理にまだ問題が残るものの、
（マルチが肝なんだし、ここを快適にして欲しい。）
PCゲームはここまで来たかとちょっと感動すらしてしまうゲームです。

とても面白いのですが、今は2142に移行してしまい、遊んでいる人は上級者が多いので、FPS初心者の方がやるのは結構キツいかも知れませんが、海外、国内のサーバーがまだまだ沢山稼働してるので、遊ぶには困ることはありません。それに、良いMODも沢山ありますから、長く楽しめると思います。拡張パックはゴミなので不要だと思います。

本作もバトルフィールドベトナムと同様にヘリでの航空支援が大きな鍵を握っているようです。バトルフィールドベトナムではイロコイもコブラもロケットを１回に１発ずつしか発射できなかったのが、本作では連射できるので、侵攻してくる敵の戦車を秒殺出来ますｗそれにガナーが２０ｍｍの旋回機銃で敵の歩兵や軽装甲車両を見事に倒してくれるので味方の進軍や拠点防御にも最適です。味方の戦車もヘリでの航空支援なしでは安心して敵の拠点へ前進できません。更に歩兵では新たにダッシュする機能が追加されたので、速やかに遮蔽物に隠れたり出来るので歩兵の戦闘力も上がっています。かなり面白いゲームだと思います。
