イタリアの女性歌手、アリーチェ・ビスコンティの1st。1975作

イタリアのこの手の歌手の中でも特にプログレファンに人気なのが彼女。
後の作品は何枚か聴いたが、一番聴きたかったこのデビュー作がついに紙ジャケ再発された。
邦題「夢の中の少女」と題されたこの作品は、美しいジャケの通りにサウンドも素晴らしくクラシカルなピアノの音色に、瑞々しい彼女の歌声。そしてイタリア語の響きも美しい。
I POOHの協力もあったということで、バックのストリングスの優雅な響きに包まれて絶品のメロディと幻想的な雰囲気が合わさった、シンフォニック性も有した傑作だ。
感動的な５あたりの歌メロにぐっとこない日本人はいまい。
ちなみに、彼女はこのデビュー当時21歳。内ジャケ写真のあまりの美女ぶりにもうっとり…

この作品は主にユーロロックのファンの間で名盤として語られていながら、市場ではついぞ見かけたことがないという、まさに‘幻の名盤’でした。この復刻でようやく容易く聴けるようになったことを、レコード会社関係者に感謝したいと思います。
音の方は、オーケストラを配した贅沢なアレンジですが、あくまで奥床しく格調を失しないトラディショナルなサウンド。そこにアリーチェのしっとり落ち着いていながら若く瑞々しい歌声が乗って、えも言われぬ馥郁たる音空間が展開されます。
引き合いに出されるのは、同時に紙ジャケ復刻された、こちらも名盤の誉れ高いカテリーナ・カセッリの『春』。たしかに姉妹のように似たサウンドですが、本作の方がより牧歌的で、ポピュラリティのある作りです。
