International pressing of the debut album from Sonya Kitchell, an 18-year old singer, guitarist and songwriter from western Massachusetts featuring two bonus tracks. 'Alone I Swim' and 'Clara/Little Brother'. The album represents a dazzling debut by a remarkable young artist, blending Pop, Jazz, Folk and Blues into a thing of soulful beauty. Recorded when Sonya was just 16, the album is an understated, largely acoustic affair, seamlessly melding elements of Jazz, R&B, Folk and other roots forms in a song-serving, rather than genre-adhering, way. There is undeniable warmth and wholesomeness to Kitchells dusky alto, but just as evident is a knowingness that is both ageless and timeless. Universal. 2007.
