その昔、某雑誌の欧州メタルの特集において、当時ハード・ロックに電撃復帰をしたBow Wowのメンバーも迎えてアルバムのレヴューもどきが展開していた事を思い出した。山本恭司（先生）曰く、「Acceptとは英国にレーベルが一緒なんだよね（Heavy Metal Records）。この調子で行けばどんどんアメリカとかにも進出出来るんじゃないかな？」.........と。この調子で行けば、絶対にアメリカでは受けない音の間違いじゃないか、と思った程の正反対の意見だった。バスドラの音がベースをかき消してしまってろくに聴こえないとか、とにかく、Accept史上、最もやりたいようにやった1枚。例えばPretty Maidsの『Red,Hot & Heavy』。例えばWarningの『Warning』（赤い鶏ジャケットの奴ね）等、80年代初期の欧州メタルの名盤10撰に間違いなく選びたい1枚。但し!! 何度ＣＤ化に成っても、オリジナルのフライングＶが２機（２台じゃなくて、敢えて２機!!）絡まって燃えているナイスなオリジナル・ジャケットが復刻出来ないのか非常に不思議。ライブでもないのに、ステージに写真を使っているのはちょっと間抜けだ。

８０年代に、ドイツ・ヘヴィ・メタルを世界に認めさせたACCEPTの４作目。
ファストでゴリゴリのリフ、ヤスリをかけたような特異なウドのVo、が脳味噌爆発せんばかりの叫びを上げて始まる1は、時を越えてメタル愛好家必聴の１曲。
まさに、それは非情なまでに鋭利に磨き上げ、堂々たる威厳すら携えてひたすら攻撃するその様自体が有無を言わせぬ説得力に満ちている。
ギター、ヴォーカルだけでない重みが、バック・ヴォーカルからも伝わってくる。

いいですよね、これ。アングラっぽい所。大衆に合わせるのではなく、正にやりたい音楽を追求してますから。この頃は「ついて来れる奴だけついて来い」、みたいに少し突き放すような所もあったりして。男臭いですし、アクセプトの原型にかなり近いと思います。一頃国産発売前は輸入盤のみでした。入手後は心して聴いた記憶があります。それで初っ端から、ファスト・アズ・ア・シャークですから。速い。これは凄いバンドが西ドイツにはいるなと、その奥深さを痛烈に感じると共に即ジャーマンメタルに憧れましたね。全体のバランスやらプロダクションは完璧ではないと思います。ただ、この荒削りの所が堪らないですね。全体的に明るさなんて殆どありません。締めのプリンセス・オブ・ザ・ドーン、重いですね。これがアクセプトのいい所です。
