前作Lundry ServiceでShakiraを知り、今回のアルバムはスペイン語だし、どうしようかなぁ…と迷っていたところ、1stシングルLa Torturaを聞き、これは買い！とばかりに購入しましたが、なんか期待してたのと違うなぁというのが第一印象、まあせっかく買ったので聞きこんでみたところ、徐々にこれはこれでありかも、という印象に変わりました。

最初は1stシングルのような熱いラテン魂、レゲトン、ダンスミュージックを期待していたので、最初に印象に残るのはやはり、alejandro sanzをフューチャーした情熱的なLa Tortura、抑圧的なLa Pared、そしてPVが製作され、MTVでもオンエアされていたNo、ぐらいでした。しかし、徐々にドリーミーでミュージカル曲のようなPara Obtener Un Si、何かから開放されたかのように穏やかなDia De Enero、冒頭を飾るフランス語(?)によるこちらも穏やかなリズムのEn Tus Pupilasなどポップな感じの曲にもはまり始めます。ただし、ロックな楽曲は個人的に古くさく感じてしまって苦手です。後は意外といい感じで、アコースティックVer.やShakira＋レゲトンなるShaketon Ver.での1stシングル曲も個人的にはうれしい限り。

日本盤と輸入盤には特に違いは無いので、こちらのDVD付きを購入しましたが、こちらで正解でした。La TorturaのPVは全然飽きないし、レコーディング風景やインタビュー、Sanzが撮影したプライベートな彼女の姿が収録されており、英語字幕が付くのでなんとか理解できます（結構難しい話？もしているようですが、11月発売のVer.2に通じるような話もしていると思います）。

すでに聞き始めてから2週間が経ちましたが、いまだに自分のなかでヘビロテです。ほとんどの曲が3分〜4分で終わるので聞きやすいと思います。

発売日が発表されてからずっと楽しみにしてました。聴いてみて、今回はボサノヴァのような曲もあったりと結構楽しめました。今回は随分と落ち着いていたかもしれないです。Vol.2が11月に出るようなのでそれも楽しみです。

スペイン語の勉強を始め、先生にShakiraをすすめられて予備知識もないまま最新アルバムを購入してみたのですが、期待した以上によいです。紹介に「震える歌声はアラニス・モリセットとクランベリーズのドロレス・オリオーダンを足して2で割ったような印象」と書かれている通り、彼女の歌声はアラニス・モリセットにとてもよく似ています。ラテンっぽいナンバーも含まれていて、普段あまりラテンを聴かない人は新鮮に感じるのでは。
