近頃TV-CFで耳にするココロ惹かれるピアノ曲を、ジャズを本拠とする木住野が弾く。唯一サティで原曲から離れ自由に振る舞ってはいるが、それはいわばお約束。むしろ譜面をきちんと辿る。その隅々纏綿と息をこらすのではないサバと自然な音の出し方が清新だ。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

映画『戦場のピアニスト』に使われて鮮烈な印象を残したショパンのノクターン第20番。パナソニック“新・ビエラ”のCM曲でもあり、そこでの演奏はジャズ・ピアニストの木住野佳子によるものだ。初のクラシック作品となるこのミニ・アルバムでは、上掲のノクターン以外にもドビュッシーやシューマンなど、サティ「ジムノペディ」でアドリブ部を後半に付け加えるほかは譜面に沿って弾いている。ビル・エヴァンス派としての叙情的な部分を思い切り増幅させた演奏だが、ズブズブに甘くても体感温度が低いのは彼女ならではか。 (橘淳之介) --- 2005年08月号

たとえていうならば、どこかの小さな公会堂で一人きりでピアノを弾いているのを、後方の出入り口付近に腰を下ろしてそっと聞いているような感じである。もはや個々の音符は意味をなさず、そこにあるのは木住野佳子と自分と、その間の空間に広がる曲だけだ。彼女のジャズピアノはスタジオ録音に特有の音だから、それとの対比が心地よい違和感を与えてくれる。少し曲数が少ないのが非常に残念である。ＣＤまるまる７０分枚聴いていたい、やさしい音達であった。

あのビエラのCMだときいて早速買いました。サティやドビッシー、シューマンもとってもいいです。あらためてショパンの魅力を堪能。どうしてこんなに泣けるメロディなのかと。
ただ、全部で30分弱というのは、プライスパフォーマンスが悪いですね。あれ、もうおわっちゃった、という気分で、いつも2回きいています。どこかに書いてほしいですよね。だまされたとはいわないけど。

録音がまず、？。JAZZと録り方が違うことはわかっていますが、かなり中央に集まってます。エコーももう少し控えめのほうが好きです。演奏は特にサティのジュ・トゥ・ヴーは自由に弾いています。他の聞きなれた曲も、クラシック演奏家とはニュアンスは異なります。まあ、こういうのもありかな？
