長年ファンであり続けたシカゴ目当てで購入しましたが、EW＆Fとの競演が想像を遥かに超えた素晴らしい出来栄えで正直驚きました。シカゴというバンドは長年の歳月を経てアダルトコンテンポラリーの分野に入るほどラブソングを甘く歌いこむ大人のバンドに変身（？）しましたが、かっては反戦ソングを歌い上げたくらい政治色の強いバンド。当時高校生でハードロック好きだった私は何度も武道館公演に足を運んだものです。同時代に一世を風靡したEW&Fをはじめて見ましたが、正直かっこいいですね。彼らのノりノリの演奏にシカゴのメンバーが触発されている様子が伺えます。元々ソウルフルな持ち味があるビル・チャプリン（Key)が実に生き生きと歌い上げ、ブラスセクションも実に良い音色を聞かせてくれます。どの曲も素晴らしい出来栄えですが、ラストの長い夜（25OR6TO4）は筆舌に尽くしがたい最高の名演です。あの高校生時代に見たシカゴが脳裏に蘇るほどの迫力がEW&Fにより引き出されたと言っても過言ではありません。トリプルリードギターバトルとダブルホーンセクション、そしてEW&Fのベーシストの縦横無尽の活躍は必見に値します。

私はアースを目当てに購入。

アース・ウィンド&ファイアーの曲は何度もCDで聴いてましたが
実際、アースの歌っている姿を見たことがなく、
始めはアースとはどういう人達なんだろう、と軽い気持ちで
レンタル屋で借りてみましたが、もうこれはすごい！！
レンタルしたのにアマゾンで即購入。

CDで聴いていてもカッコいい曲なのに、映像として目に入る
アースはもうほんとにかっこよすぎます。

とくに、BassのVerdine Whiteは異常なまでにステージ上を
縦横無尽に駆け巡り、ノリノリにステップを踏みながら
Bassを演奏、こんなにカッコよいベーシストが
いるのだとはじめてしりました。

Bill Champlinが歌うAfter The Love Has Goneもイイ。
この人もまったくもって知らなかったのですが
なにか心に響くAfter The Love Has Goneを歌い上げてました。

また一番重要なのが個人的に最も好きな曲That's The Way Of The World
が入ってあったこと、それがなによりです…

なんでシカゴとアースなの？と思われた洋楽ファンには是非観ていただきたいDVDかと。シカゴはROCK系だけど、実はソウル・ファンクのテイストをしっかり持ったバンド。その潜在？能力がアースとの競演で繚乱！
ラブソングのイメージのシカゴしかない方にはびっくりかも。しかも、何でこの歳で、こんなに元気やねん！（爆）。両バンドとも過去の遺物という捉え方もあるでしょうが、逆に、あまりコマーシャルベースに囚われずに大勢で好き勝手やってる感じが好ましい。
惜しむらくは、やはりモーリスの存在。アースはやはり彼のバンドなんだよねえ。全盛期と比べ、グルーヴ感は別物。アルマッケイ（ギター）参加のCDかDVDと聞き比べてくださいませ。
