確かではありませんが私が小学生一、二年の頃くらいに親がビデオ録画していたこの映画を何度も見ていました。その頃は戦争に対しての知識等全然なかったので気持悪いという感覚しかありませんでした。ですが成長してから改めてこの映画を見ると、本当にこんなことがあったんだと考えさせられました。今そのテープはボロボロになっていて綺麗に映らないので近代のメディアであるDVDにしてくださってありがたいです。もし将来結婚して子供が生まれたら、見せ続けていきたい映画です。

夏にドラマ化されると知り、久しぶりにDVDで見ました。初めて見た時は凄惨な光景の余り、途中で見るのをやめてしまいました。
しかし、改めて見ると家族愛が重点的に描かれていて、初めて見た時よりは見れました。
この作品は、原爆の恐ろしさを知ることのできる数少ない作品です。幅広い世代に見て欲しいと思います。

　原爆投下から後のシーンは、マンガ原作にも比肩する惨たらしさで、小さい子が見たら、ちょっとトラウマになってしまう感じがしましたが、人間ドラマの方は、時間の制約もあるのでしょうが、残念ながら原作と同様に充分描ききれていたとは思えませんでした。主人公の父親を何かと非国民扱いして、ゲンに助けてもらいながら、ゲンの家族を見殺しにする町内会長親子の存在など、戦争の残酷さと同様に、人間性の嫌らしさを思う存分見せてくれた彼らが登場しないので、家族愛と、逆境にも逞しく生きるゲンの姿だけでは、『はだしのゲン』の凄さは、半分といったところかもしれませんが、原爆の悲惨さに特化すれば、きちんとメッセージは伝わっていると思いました。ゲンの声をあてた宮崎一成氏の変声期前？の声が、今現在、演じられているような繊細な少年タイプのキャラクターからは、想像できない意外性を感じました。
