モッズ・コンピの決定盤が登場!! 1981年5月に始まったモッズの祭典、「MODS MAYDAY」。25周年を祝うコンピレーション・アルバム『MODS MAYDAY 25 th』がリリースされる。東京スカパラダイスオーケストラ、Scoobie Do、Cymbals、The Scooters、Freedom Suite、The Shamrock、The I-SPY、The Standards、Blue Beat Players、NEIL ANDIRAIZA、LUI、WACK WACK RHYTHM BAND、The Zoot Style、The Boss、The Marqueeなど、これまでイベントに参加したアーティストの入手困難なレア音源も含む楽曲をコンパイルした貴重な1枚。さらにThe COLLECTORSをはじめ、THE HIGH-LOWS、Les HAIRの新録曲も収録。

ネオ・モッズの代表バンドであるザ・ジャムの来日を記念して81年にスタートしたイベント。今年25年目を迎え、これまでに出演した22バンドの音源をコンパイルしたアルバム。入手困難、未CD化、レア音源を多数収録。

　さっそく買って聴きました。モッズ系の人にはお馴染みのバンドばかりでしょうが、そうでない人には知らないバンドばかりです。
　しかし、パワフルなリズム＆ブルースを聴かせるバンドがこんなにあるのか！　という感じです。
　最近リリースされた国内若手モッズバンドのコンピレーションＣＤ『Modern World』と併せて聴くと、モダーンズの世界に浸れます。

The Jamや映画「四重人格」にインスパイアされ、81年に始まった日本版Modsの年一度の祭典「Mods Mayday」が25周年を向かえ、その記念盤です。まさに主催者の黒田"Dove"マナブ氏の「執念」ですね。今年久しぶりに出演したスカパラをはじめ、25年の間に出演したさまざまなMods Bandのコンピです。（書き下ろし含む） 個人的にはShamrockやThe Zoot Style、The I-Spyなど、当時のFaceなバンドに涙してます。
