5.0 out of 5 stars ダイハードを凌ぐ！？最高の娯楽映画！！, 2005/6/30
映画だから出来る描写、映画だから描けるシナリオというものがあると思います。
そんな事を自然かつ大胆にやってのけたこの映画はまさに観る人を釘づけにする筈。
やり手捜査官と大悪党テロリストが入れ替わってしまうという話は
シナリオに複雑さを持たせ、舌なめずりモノです。
アクション映画好きでこの映画を観ていない人はいないと思いますが、
万が一、観ていないようでしたら…迷わずすぐに!!

凶悪テロリスト、キャスター・トロイと、彼に息子を殺害されたFBI捜査官のアーチャー。
憎みあう二人が特殊な手術によって顔を入れ替え、運命を交錯させる・・・
細かいことを考えてしまうと「あり得ない」で終わってしまうストーリーなのだが、
ジョン・ウー、ニコラス・ケイジ、ジョン・トラボルタという濃い面々にかかると
これが息もつかせぬ傑作になってしまう。
突きつけあう二丁拳銃を交差させるケイジとトラボルタのカッコ良さに、
理屈ぬきにしびれちまいました。
スローモーションを多用するジョン・ウーのくどい演出も、この映画にはハマる。
彼がハリウッドにおける自分を取り戻したのもこの作品だと思う。

特筆すべきはニコラス・ケイジの演技。
リービング・ラスベガスのベンような退廃した役も良いが、やはり彼はキャスター・トロイのような、
ハイテンション＆オーバーアクションの役が最もハマる。
悩めるアーチャーに入れ替わったあとの豹変ぶりも見事の一言。
この映画の後、ニコラスの主演作は一気に増えるのだが、乱発の感も。
キレたニコラスという意味では、今だこれが彼の最高傑作という気がする。

凄く荒唐無稽なストーリーですが、家族愛に軸をもっていった為に展開に無理がありません。
そしてニコラス・ケイジとジョン・トラボルタ、善人にも悪人にも見えるこの2人を起用したことがこの作品が成功できたのだと思います。
