世界中に小林ブームを巻き起こした、ジェット・リーの代表作です。
説明不要の美しいマーシャル・アーツは、肉体で表現する芸術と言っても過言ではないでしょう。

さて、このDVDの凄いところは、日本語吹き替えが入っているという点です。
TV放映版だけではなく、新録版まで収録されているのです（しかも新録版のナレーターは千葉真一！）。
TV放映版では切れ切れだった音声に不満を持っても、新録版では一切の切れ無しで進んでいけますよ。
北京語音声も三種類あるので、それぞれ聞き比べてみるのも面白いと思います。
そして、パンフレットの復刻版も入っているのです。
当時映画館へ観に行った方は、懐かしいのではないでしょうか。

ここまで豪華だと、ただただ脱帽するしかありません。
他の販売元さんも見習って、このくらいはして貰いたいものですね。

「少林寺」って「ＨＥＲＯ」に抜かれるまで、
日本におけるアジア映画の最高配収作品だったんですね。

このＤＶＤは、当時劇場で大ヒットし、多くの人が体験した
興奮と感動を再現したこだわり仕様になっており、素晴らしい！
旧作に比べ、画質も格段に良くなっています。

最近はどうでもいいような特典映像（ＴＶドキュメンタリーなど）を
つけて、値段ばかりハイスペックになっている究極版が多い中、
「少林寺」は理想的なつくりだと思います。

ショウ・ブラザース作品も含め、
メーカーさんはいい仕事しています。

このDVDを手にとって、「日本語吹替収録」だとこうも購入意欲が増すものなのかと改めて思いました。いや、それだけではありません。この商品は「アルティメット・エディション」の名に偽りない素晴らしい仕様になってます。他社商品に３分程度のクリップ映像付の「特別版」や本編以上に長大で退屈なドキュメンタリー付の「完璧版」といったものもある中で、これは良心的です。順調にDVD化が進んでいる「必殺シリーズ」もそうですが、キングレコード社さん、本当に良い仕事をしてます。それにしても、本作をTV放映時にリアルタイムで見た一人ですが、本編の面白さは当然ながら、（日本語版ディレクターの方のセンスの良さも含めて）当時の声優さんの素晴らしさに改めて感動しました。チュエン役の水島裕氏にしても、ルーク役、デブゴン役の経験もあるでしょうが、他の声優さん共々、新録版に比べてまさに絶妙のハマリ役です。
