the pillowsのボーカル「山中さわお」、GLAYのベース「JIRO」、ストレイテナーのドラム「ナカヤマシンペイ」。
彼らを知っている人物なら
聞くべきＣＤだ。

元々は違うバンドのメンバーが集まり
新しいバンドが結成されると
光の三原色みたいに
美しい光源のような曲ができる。
プレデターズはまさにそれだ。

特に「Recall me」がそうなんだが
プレデターズの曲の歌詞を聞くと
ゾクゾクする。
なんていう歌詞なんだろうか。
「Recall me」の老婆の描写、ロックスターの盛衰。
恐ろしい言葉の羅列がつづっている。

「爆音ドロップ」は１曲目にくるだけに
明るいロックミュージックに仕上がっている。
しかしそれ以降の曲は
まさに侵略者の名に相応しい
列強の曲がそろっている。

最初に聴いたときは1爆音ドロップしかサビが耳に残らずがっかりしたものですが、ＰＯＰなＮＩＲＶＡＮＡをモチ-フにしたとのインタビューを見ていたのでＮＥＶＥＲＭＩＮＤを聴いた後にＨｕｎｔｉｎｇ！！！！を聴いてみたら印象ががらっと変わりました。2Ｒｅｃａｌｌ　Ｍｅとか5ムスタング・ヒッピーはＮＩＲＶＡＮＡの香りがぷんぷんするのでニヤリとしてしまいました。ＪＩＲＯ作曲の３曲も英詞が新鮮でよいと思うようになりました。ボーカルはＰｉｌｌｏｗｓの山中さわおに任せて正解だと思います。ＪＩＲＯの声はアクセントとしてはいいかもしれませんがメインボーカルはちと荷が重いと思いますので。（ＪＩＲＯもそう言っている。）

この中ではピロウズが好きですので、そちらに偏った内容になります。

曲調はどれもアップテンポ。ピロウズの音楽の場合、第一印象はあまりぱっとしないものが多いのですが、このCDはそんなことはないと思います。７曲中４曲がさわお氏による作曲ですが、雰囲気としてはGOOD DREAMのWALKIN' ON THE SPIRALやRosy Headを更にハイテンポにしたような感じですね。ストレンジカメレオンやハイブリッドレインボウのような「名曲系」と分類されるしっとり聞かせる曲調のものはないので、そういうものを期待している人は買わないほうが無難かもしれません。他はJIRO氏によるものなので、言わずもがなというところでしょうか。しっかりノらせてくれますよ。
詩は全てさわお氏のものですが、これもまた英字部が多かったりカナ文字が多かったり、あまりそれっぽくない印象です。穿ったような言葉やどこか熱くさせるさわお節はないですし、全体的にとりとめのない歌詞という感じがします。アウィエーとか、~だぜ、なんてのもないです。良くも悪くも彼なりの「けじめ」なのでしょうが。ただ、リザードマンの歌詞にはピロウズファンはちょっとニヤリとする部分も。

頭をカラッポにして聴くにはとてもいいアルバムです。音としては文句なしに◎ですね。歌詞が物足りないのと、ちょっと似たような曲が多く感じるところで-1で星４です。３には出来ないですね。
