東芝EMIは老舗のレコード会社だ。クレイジーやドリフに、由利徹からケーシー高峰といったコミックソングの宝庫である。今回収録されたのは、コミックソングのヒット曲ばかりで、他社の音源も多数収録だが、すべてCD化されてるじゃないか！ここはひとつレアなコミックソングをド〜ンと放出して欲しい。さらに20曲は収録してほしい。

　２００５年、お笑いブームが続いている。なかなか下火にならない。こうなるとＣＤを作る側もブームに乗った商品を出してくる。ちょうど同じ時期にテイチク・クロニクルから「エンタの歌道」（５月）と東芝ＥＭＩからこのＣＤ（６月）が出た。しかし、内容は雲泥の差だ。

　「エンタ~」の方は、お笑いでも本物の「芸人」さんにスポットを当てて、なかなか味のある一枚となった。「アホの坂田」を復刻させた功績も大きい。

　そして、本盤「お笑いソングブック」だが、とにかく面白い歌なら何でもいいとばかりにかき集めた感がある。「アホの坂田」がかぶってしまったのは痛いが、それを抜きにしても、お笑いじゃない人（なぎらけんいちやザ・ブロンソンズ、つボイノリオ）や純粋に歌を中心に活動している人（嘉門達夫）も入っているし、しかも「エンタ~」が２０曲収録に比べ、５曲も少ない１５曲収録。収録曲が多ければいいってもんじゃないが、それにしてもみんな近年のお笑い系ＣＤに収録されている曲ばかりで新鮮みが感じられない。

　それでも何か志があれば救いがあるのだが、それは伝わってこない。やはりThe Beatles「Let It Be …Naked」以降、このメーカーは歯車がちょっとかみ合ってないのではないだろうか。現に選曲者＝責任者が誰かも書かれていない。（仕事とはいえ）両方の解説を書いている鈴木啓之氏がつくづくかわいそうである・・・。

純粋に面白い歌を集めているCD。くだらなくて笑える。
山本正之ファンとしては、氏の提供した
『うぐいすだにミュージックホール』『開けチューリップ』が
収録されているのも高ポイント。
