1曲目の「Live」からカッコイイ。ファンクでロックな力こぶがいきなりガツンだ。そのかっこよさは2曲目でダンス色を強めて更にリスナーを高揚させる。
一方3曲目はベストにも収録された「I Belong To You」。この黄昏感が、これまたカッコイイ。シンプルなことばがむしろ曲想により効果的に迫る。
そしてデジタルな4曲目「ブラック・ヴェルヴェッティーン」の疾走感は車というよりはバイクで風を斬る感覚に近い。JAMIROQUAIのようなムーヴ感が、レニーのフレーバーで味わえる。

ここまでの4曲で掴みは完璧だろう。だが5のようなスローモーションで映像が落ちてゆくナンバーもあなどれない。黄昏感、孤独さがメロに充満している。6も3の対の様に、或いは5の流れを汲んで母とレニーの切なさに「ＮＯＭＯＲＥ ＷＥＥＰＩＮ’」という黒人霊歌のフレーズを入れ、最高のナンバーだ。8のシングルカットしたＰＯＰチューンもここで並ぶと突出して粒の大きい曲だとは思わない。ただシャウトは相変わらず彼の魅力だと再確認する。

メロのセンス抜群というのは、僕のような一般リスナーにはとても満足させてくれる。ただ、ファンク好きのコアなファンはまだまだ満足していないはず。そういう方の意見も聞きながら、レニーの世界を共に知ってゆくには、初期のオーガニックなＲＯＣＫたちとともに、登竜門として充分ありだと思う。
