ラストアルバムとなった訳だが、ある意味ではこれ以上のアルバムは作れなかったのではないかと思われるくらいの完成度を誇る一枚。

原版のアルバムタイトルは「Spilt Milk」だが、日本版では「こぼれたミルクに泣かないで」という凄まじいタイトルだったw
ちなみに曲名も邦題が付けられている曲が何曲かある。

オープニングは眠気を誘うようなオルゴールが奏でられる「Hush（邦題：おやすみ）」
パワーポップ全開の「Joining A Fan Club（邦題：ファンクラブに入るなら）」
ポール・マッカートニーが書きそうなお気軽ポップソング「Sebrina Paste And Plato」
メロディの美しさやスケールの大きいアレンジが大好きな「New Mistake」
ドラマチックな展開の「The Glutton Of Sympathy（邦題：憐れみの王様）」
サビのメロディが大好き。これまたパワーポップ全開な「The Ghost At Number One（邦題：スーパースターに救いの手を）」
これまたグッドなメロディとリズムが絶妙な雰囲気を醸し出す「Bye Bye Bye」
スケールの大きさに飲み込まれてしまう曲「All Is Forgiven（邦題：優しく許して）」
「Russian Hill」
コミカルなシンセの音が印象的な「He's My Best Friend（邦題：彼は僕のともだち）」
美メロで涙腺刺激系の「Too Much, Too Little, Too Late（邦題：言葉にさよならを）」
派手すぎず地味すぎず終焉を迎える「Brighter Day（邦題：あしたがあるから）」

なんだか人を食ったような歌詞といい、やたらと美しいメロディーといい、究極の変態ポップ職人だと思いますね。

前作ももちろんすばらしいのですが、この作品はもっとコーラスワークとメロディーが研ぎ澄まされていて、ポップの粋を集めた曲ばかりで嬉しいです。特にnew mistakeが大好きです。

こういう知的で変態なポップバンドは最近なかなか出てこないですよね。かなり個人的には大好きなバンド（ユニット？）です。

前作「Bellybutton」でも脈々と受け継がれているビートルズやビーチボーイズのポップセンスを受け継ぐ完成度の高いポップを集めた傑作だったが、まさかその上を行くとは思わなかった。

コーラスワークはクイーンの影響が見られつつも、ロッカペラなつくりはミートローフ。ポップが好きで仕方がないのがひしひしと伝わる。

ジェリーフィッシュとしては本作で解散してしまったが、アンディー・スターマーやロジャー・マニングなど中心人物たちは様々なプロジェクトで現在も活躍中。こんなクオリティーの高い人たちを世間が放っておくはずがない。
