今回の１５００円シリーズで、「ゲット・ザ・ナック」が発売されて、やっとデジタル・リマスターで聴けると思いましたが、なんと、昔のマスタリングのままでした。今までデジタル・リマスター盤の国内盤は出ていなかったので、いいタイミングだと思ったのですが。。。それなら輸入盤の「ゲット・ザ・ナック」のほうがデジタル・リマスタリングされて、なおかつ５曲のボーナス・トラック付きなので、そちらを購入するのが懸命だと思います。国内盤のライナーや歌詞カードなんかなくてもすばらしい音質のほうが重要です。音楽は音を楽しむものですから。

「ゲット・ザ・ナック」が出たとき、これで国内盤でリマスター盤が聴けると思いました。しかし！出たのは相変わらずの昔マスタリングしたものの廉価盤仕様に過ぎませんでした。これならば、解説なんかなくてもいいから輸入盤リマスタリング仕様を買うべきだと思います。値段も輸入盤のほうが安いのでは？ボーナストラックも輸入盤リマスタリング仕様には入っていますよ。

オリジナル1979年作。製作期間わずか11日、制作費(たった)$18,000で作られた、奇跡の1枚。

いわずもがな"My Sharona"のメガヒットで、他の全てが吹き飛んでしまった感もあるのですが、
当時のキャピトルレコードのスター発掘戦略(ビートルズの再来を狙っていたと言われてますが)
とか、当時の辣腕プロデューサー、マイク・チャップマンのいい仕事とか、ナックが本来もって
いたネオ・ロカビリーな方向性とかが、この1曲に集約された格好ですよね。

My Sharonaの他にシングルになった#6とか#11も、決してその質が低いわけではなく、
今でも充分通用する音。ちなみに全12曲のうちカバーは#8のみ(バディ・ホリー1959のヒット曲)
あとは全てダグ・フィージャー(vo)とベイトン・アベール(g)によるオリジナルです。

なお、もう少し色々と聞きこみたい方でしたら、ボーナス版付きの方をお勧めします。
