誰もかれもがギターにエフェクトをかけ、ノイズを響かせていた時代に、
Ben Folds Fiveのこのアルバムはリリースされました。1995年のことです。

ボーカル、ピアノ、ベース、ドラム、以上。
全12曲（日本盤は＋1）、ポップで、パンクで、ロックンロール。
そしてどうしようもない男の、社会へのどうする事もできないわだかまりを叫び続ける歌詞。及びセンチメンタリズム。
つまりは、とてつもないリアリティがここにはある訳です。

この作品が、ただの良曲の寄せ集めではない所以はそこです。
3や6で描かれる、情けない日常。
その果てに歌われる9。

「Did I make me up
　or make the face 'til it stuck
　I do the best imitation of myself」

90年代のベスト10に入る（というか決定でしょ）、超名盤です。絶対に聴いてください。

Ben Folds Five のファーストアルバムにして傑作です。 ピアノの音が心地よくて聴けば聴くほどもっと聴きたくなります。大げさでなく全て名曲です。 ポップでカワイイ感じで大好きです。

解散してしまい、もったいなさすぎですが メンバーのソロにも注目していきたいと思います。
