カラヤン／ベルリンフィルの名演。７８,９年のアナログ録音の絶頂期の録音でａｒｔによるリマスター。８０年代初期のデジタル録音よりはるかにすばらしい録音である。ドヴォルザークの９番はラファエル・クーベリックが好きだったがこの演奏も颯爽したカラヤンらしい演奏。８番はすごいとしかいいようがない。すっきりとクリアーでいてベルリンフィルらしく隙のないしっかりした演奏。カラヤンはウィーンフィルとの好演もあったがあちらは郷土感たっぷり。対照的なスタイル。何より音がすごい。これはもっと評価されてよい１枚である。

本当に大迫力!こんなに鳴ったドヴォルザークが他にあるだろうか!?
第8番は超名演。第二楽章の高揚感、第三楽章の艶やかな弦の響き、終楽章の輝かしい爆発力…僕は名高い晩年のVPO盤よりも断然こっち(またはDECCA盤)を推薦。
新世界もパワフル。推進力に満ちており、旧盤に比べスケールも圧倒的に大きくなっている。ティンパニが物凄く(特に後半2つの楽章)、痛快の極み。
録音は両曲とも優秀、全盛期のゴージャス&パワフルなBPOサウンドを完璧に捉えている!
