まずしょっぱなから、テンポのとてももったりした演奏にとまどってしまうが、この演奏者は、一音一音の意味を確かめ確かめして弾いているのだ、ということがわかる。ここには音の軽やかな流麗さはないが、かわりに音の深く重たい〈意味化〉とでもいうべきものがある。この演奏を是とするか非とするかは、人によって分かれるところだろうと思うが、私はこうした演奏がひとつぐらいあってもいいと思うし、軽やかに流れすぎるサティーや、音の無意味化されたサティーに不満をもつリスナーには、うってつけといえる。ただ、私としては、ここまでしなくても、もう少し中庸の側に位置する演奏を求めたい気持ちがある。

　レーウのサティ演奏は完全に悟りを開いちゃってます。
これを聴いてしまうと、他の演奏が安っぽく聴こえます。
