　アラウが奏でるワルツは他の演奏家のCDよりいくらか遅い。遅いといっても、テクニックが無いわけではなく、速さが必要なパッセージではちゃんと弾いている。他の人より幾分ゆったり弾いているだけで、彼の演奏を聴かないのはナンセンスである。ブーニンのワルツのよう情熱さや、カツァリスのような強烈な個性は出てないが、彼のワルツは聴く人に安らぎを与えるだろう。ワルツは演奏家別に６枚くらい持っているが、聞きながら寝れるのはアラウの演奏でした。
　いい味を出しているので、ピアノを弾く人にもよい参考になるはずだ。趣味でワルツを弾きたければこのCDを持っていても損にはならないだろう。これが１０００円とはお得すぎる！

全て聴き終わった後，最初に出た言葉は「さすがはアラウだ！」というような言葉だった。とても素晴らしかった。
アラウは技巧よりピアノの美を追求した。
例えば，アラウの音楽を聴くと，キラキラしたような音や，とても深い音が聞こえてくる。

そんなアラウが弾くショパンは心が和み，弾いているアラウ自身だけではなく，聴いている自らもそのピアノに引き込まれていく。
そして，全てのワルツ（１９曲）を聴き終わった後にものすごい開放感・・・というか，何か大きなものを得たように感じた。

アラウが奏でるショパンのワルツ。
華麗な音楽をあなたも味わってみませんか？

リパッティ、ルービンシュタイン、カツァリス…
ショパンのワルツには名アルバムがいくつか挙げられます。
ここに聴かれるアラウのワルツは、前者たちの演奏とはちょっと違います
“優雅な”“洗練された”“都会的な”といった形容詞は
当てはまらないかもしれません。
“私、老爺ですが、経験豊かなステップで御一緒しませんか？”
と何度も口説かれてゆくうちに、いつしかゆったりとした彼の心地よいワルツの虜に…。
夏の昼下がりに、避暑地でシャンパンを傾けながら聴きたい…実はそれほど高貴な癒しのワルツです。
