前作から抜けていた個性派ギタリスト、ウェスが帰ってきました。前のアルバムと比べるとやはりウェスの存在は大きかったようです。メタル的な重さにフレッドの甲高いラップが健在です。前に比べて初期の音に近くなっているようです。
ただ個人的に気になる所があって、若干バンド自体が大人になってるって言うか真面目になっている印象があります。昔の「ヌーキー、ヌーキー」言ってた時の様な遊びがあってのリンプって感じるのは自分だけでしょうか？丸くなったと考えずに成長したと考えるのが妥当でしょうか？
賛否両論で意見が分かれそうだけど自分はこんなリンプもアリなので星５つ。

前作でマイク・スミスはマイク・スミスなりに頑張ってくれたと思います。
しかし、ウェスとは切り離して考えられませんし結局はこの体制が一番しっくりきます。
音はしっかりしているし１ｓｔや２ｎｄから聴いてきた方々には嬉しい変化だとおもいます。
個人的にはもう少し共感できるフレーズが欲しかったです。タイトルからも窺えるように少し哲学的というか距離を感じる部分がありました。
単純に理解や共感を生み出すのは難しいのかなと思います。
前作で拍子抜けしたという方も多いようですが、とりあえずこの作品まで聴いてみてはいかがでしょうか。飽和状態などという意見も聞かれますが良い判断材料になるかと思います。

3.0 out of 5 stars ウェス・ボーランド復帰記念作, 2005/12/26
2005年の５月に一切の告知もなく、まさに突如リリースされた5thアルバム（曲数とランニングタイムの関係でEP扱いとなっている国もあるようだ）。本作は脱退していたギタリスト、ウェス・ボーランドが復帰している事が一番の話題だろう。

それはファンにも、そしてバンドにも嬉しかったのだろう。このCDはエンハンスド仕様になっていて、レコーディングの様子等が見られるのだが出てくる映像がボーランドばっかりだ。

肝心の内容はギターの音がやたらと目立つ。正直言うとそれ以外に強いインパクトはさほどなくて、ダーストのラップにも以前ほどのキレがないしリズムの構成も単調な感じだ（そしてDJリーサルの仕事はどこへ？）。『ミッション・インポッシブル』のサントラでやった事の焼き直しと言われた返す言葉もないが、それでもベースとギターが本作にしては珍しくいい絡みを聞かせている“The truth”はいい曲だと思う。

結局のところ、『ウェス・ボーランド復活記念作』と言う感じは否めないしそれにしては物足りないと言うのが印象だ。ただ、ここ最近のバンドのダメっぷりはとことんまで来ているので、せっかくだからどん底まで落ちた人間の底力を見せてもらいたいと思っている。もう一度「自分たちの一番の魅力」は何なのか、“Nookie”や“N 2 gether now”で聞かせたファンキーな快感を取り戻してほしい。
