ＭＡＧＮＡ　ＣＡＲＴＡレーベル屈指のテクニッシャン軍団、
ＳＧの最新作は、前々作であるティラニーの続編と位置づけ
られています。
とにかく、極上のテクニックに裏打ちされたプログレメタル
サウンドを堪能できます。

筆者個人的な感想をいえば、同時期に発売されたＤＴの作品
よりも好みでした。昔のＤＴサウンドで求めていたものが、
完璧ではありませんが、この作品にはありました。
（筆者がＤＴで好きな曲は、ＡＷＡＫＥの２曲目ＣＡＵＧＨＴ
ＩＮ　ＴＨＥ　ＷＥＢです。この曲調が、最近の彼らには
ありませんが、この作品にはあるような気がします）

なかなかステージには上がってこない彼らですが、是非一度
ナマで彼らを体験してみたいものです。

アメリカ、プログレメタルのベテラン、シャドウ・ギャラリーの5th。DREAM THEATERとは違った意味で、毎回高品質なProg Metalアルバムを作ってきたこのバンド、
今回は傑作である3rd「TYRANNY」の続編というストーリー付きのコンセプト作である。
音だけを聴くと、スリリングな曲は今までよりは少なく、どちらかというとメロディアスでゆったりとした雰囲気の曲がメインとなっているので、やや物足りなさもあるが、複雑な映画的な歌詞を読めば、おそらくサウンドとマッチしてこの世界をより楽しめるのだろう。
しかし、たたみかける部分での演奏はいつもながらに素晴らしい演奏を聴かせてくれるし、今回専任キーボーディストは不参加ながら、いつものシャドウギャラリー節のメロディラインも健在。
情景を思い浮かべて楽しむような、奥深いプログレッシブメタル作品だ。
