ＤＣクーパー脱退後、人気が下降し更にはデビュー当初からのメンバー達の脱退。誰もがロイヤルハントは終わったと思ったがこの作品はそれらを払拭するに充分なだけの説得力のある作品である。初期の作品に通じる様式美なクラシカルメロディは正しくジョン・ウェスト加入後の最高傑作に成り得るだろう。知らない方は勿論、ＤＣクーパー脱退後ロイヤルハントから離れていったファンは是非聴いてみて欲しい。正しく王者の復活である。

デンマークの重鎮、ロイヤル・ハントの8th。
のっけからアンドレ・アンダーセンのキラキラキーボードが炸裂してます。
ヘヴィさときらびやかさ、キャッチーなロイヤルハント節の歌メロが合わさって、たたみかけるように聴き手を惹きつけずにはおかないドラマティックな楽曲が続いてゆく。
クラシカルかつシンフォニック魂溢れるこのキーボードワークはまったく凄まじいほどで楽曲密度としては彼らの全ディスコグラフィー中でも最高作といってよいほど。
濃すぎるほどに濃い、ロイハンサウンド全開の傑作だ。

　日本盤のボーナストラック「Long way home」で、Johnは一部を日本語の歌詞で歌っています。非常によく聞き取れる部分とそうでない部分があり、またボーナストラックの歌詞が載せられておらず、説明も無いので、誰しも空耳か？と思いますが、本当に日本語だそうです。AndreとJohnは相当、日本語から遠いと知っていて出したようなので、気は心？なのでしょうか。。。「Paradox」に収録されている「Long way home」には日本語訳があり、そちらを見ろ、というつもりらしいですが、メロディーに合わせてかなり言葉の変更があり、あまり参考にはなりません。Royal Hunt が日本のファンのために企画し、多忙なJohnがわざわざ練習してくれたのかと思うと感激しますが、AndreとJohnしかわからない歌詞で歌ってもらって果たして嬉しいのかというと、、、？
