   オーストラリアの先住民・アボリジニを隔離しようとする政策に従い、アボリジニと白人の混血の少女3人が家族から引き離され、英語やキリスト教など白人としての教育を受ける。家族に会いたい彼女たちは、施設を抜け出し、1500マイル（2400キロ）もの道をひたすら歩き続けた。実話をもとに、オーストラリア出身のフィリップ・ノイスが監督したヒューマンな感動作。
   先住民を教育（洗脳？）しようとするヨーロッパ人の傲慢さが下敷きになっているものの、声高に彼らを批判するだけの作品ではない。アボリジニ保護局長（ケネス・ブラナーが好演）も、あくまで良心に従って行動している部分がうかがわれ、完全な悪役として描かれないところがリアルだ。3人の少女を演じる子役たちの表情がなんとも力強く、ラストには、モデルになった女性たちも登場し、感動を新たにさせる。（斉藤博昭）

日本では知らない人も多い、アボリジニの迫害の歴史や、
観光イメージ以外のオーストラリア知るきっかけになる
映画だと思います。
好感がもてたのは、ドキュメンタリーやリポートでなく、
映画作品として魅力的な作品であること。

とてもシンプルなストーリーなのですが、
必要以上の説明や映像効果がなく、
見る側の人を引き込むことができるという
「映画」のチカラを感じる作品でした。

オーストラリアの歴史やアボリジニのことを良く知らなくても
話についていくことができる、感動できるひとつの映画作品として
とてもよくまとまっていると思います。

１５００マイルって、２４００km。
２ヶ月以上の間、収容所から母のもとを訪ねて
歩いた子供たち。
よくアメリカインディアンや、インカの人々
そして、日本のアイヌの話は聞いていたけれど
オーストラリアのアボリジニも
教化政策や、文明化の名のもとに
その本来の生活をおいたてられた歴史があるのを
恥ずかしながら、この映画で知った。
そして、カトリック信者の私としては、
その政策の中にカトリックの宗教政策が
からんでいることを本当に悲しく思う。

人間が本来の姿で自由に生きる権利があることを
やっと２１世紀の私たちは、少しずつ学び理解しつつある。
人間のエゴを憎み、共存できる社会になるよう
身近なところから見つめていきたい・・

あらすじがアマゾンのレビューに描いてあるので、
感想だけ述べると
とても印象に残る映画だったと思います
お姉さんのモリーの機転の良さには関心してしまいます
３人は途中民家で食べ物を分けてもらったり
旅の人によくしてもらったりするのですが
少しでも自分の気に入らないコトを言われると
「あいつは嘘つき、信じちゃだめ」　で振り返りもせずに去っていく
というシーンがあって
おいおい食べ物を恵んでもらってそれはないだろ？　と正直思いましたが迫害の歴史を考えると仕方がないのかな？

アボリジニの民族的な描写もあって、アボリジニのことを知るための映画としてはとても良い出来だったと思います
