　過去にも一度箱ジャケで再発されていましたが、今回はボーナストラックが数曲（何曲かは「アイラブラブ」収録のもの）ついてうれしいパッケージとなって登場。解説もついてようやく決定盤、という感じなのかと。

　解説にも書かれていますが、このアルバムから突段を聴き始めるのが一番良いように思います。私は、もちろんリアルタイムではなく、昔「ﾚｰﾍﾞﾙ・ｲﾝｺｰﾎﾟﾚｲﾃｯﾄﾞ」というｺﾝﾋﾟに収録されていた「ホワイトマン」から好きになったクチでしたが、その後「初期未発表集」（CDR。突段サイトで販売）や「アイラブラブ」を聴いて、ほんの一時期を代表する曲にすぎないことがわかりました。

　制作直前にベーシストが抜けて、いってみればスカスカな音なんですが、それが逆にこのﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞにねじれたミニマルアートっぽい印象を与えているところが不思議ですし、好きな人にはたまらん魅力なのでは。「イパネマの娘」の人をくったカバーや、湯浅湾がﾗｲﾌﾞでカバーしていた「選択と配列」などの聴きどころや、単純にｷﾞﾀｰの音が心地よい曲もあります。コントーションズもフリクションもいいんですが、突段の毒とユーモアが一番自分の中で長続きしますね。

　日本のニューウェーブ名盤を選べるとすれば、ノンバンドと共に忘れずに必ず入れたい作品です。

余計なものを削いで削いで、それでもこのひねくれ方。ステキ過ぎます。ひねくれているのですが同時にユーモラスでもあり、この２つが同居する絶妙な奇天烈具合がたまりません。好きな人は本当に好きでしょう。
