ジョージタウン大学を卒業した７人の仲間は、仲間のうちのビリーとウェンディが交通事故を起こしたのをきっかけに、久しぶりに集まった。それぞれ社会に出た７人だが、全員恋や仕事、家族関係など、悩みを抱えている。年上の先輩に叶わぬ恋心を抱いたり、過保護な親に反発したり、三角関係でぎくしゃくしたり・・・。
80年代の青春映画を代表する一作だと思います。卒業後、自分の道を見つけたはずだけど、その進路も決して順調ではない。はじめて社会の厳しさを目の当たりにして、戸惑ってしまう。そんな青春時代特有のどうしようもない気持ちが、等身大に描かれているように思います。デヴィッド・フォースターの爽やかな音楽も素晴らしいです！ストーリーの方は、どのエピソードも中途半端に感じましたが、誰もが通過する社会へ出て行く瞬間のやるせない感情を鮮やかに映し出した秀作だと思います。

いつだったか、王様のブランチで名前はわかりませんが役者の人がこの作品を推していて、それからしばらく経ったのちに、レンタルショップで借りてみました。個人的にはとても好きな作品になりました。よく、「せつなさ」というのは日本特有の感情だといわれていますが（英語でそれに当たる言葉は存在しないし）、この映画を見終わったあと、さわやかな感情とともに、ちょっと痛いようなせつなさが僕の胸には起こりました。この頃のアメリカ青春映画というと、よく「愛と青春の旅立ち」をあげる人もいますが、それと比べると少なくとも僕は断然、この作品のほうがスキですね。

胸に希望と夢を抱いて社会に出たものの、現実と理想のはざまで落ち込んでみたり、苦悩する主人公達。ちょっと切なく、ほろ苦い感じです。
この主題歌も、とても好きでした。当時結構売れてた記憶があります。
当時の売れっ子スターが揃って出ているのも嬉しい本作。
私の中では、青春映画としてはこの作品が一番好きな作品です。
