リーダー柴田直人（b）の作り出す楽曲は勿論素晴らしい。特に（２）（４）は名曲だし、（６）（８）も申し分ない。
しかし本作の魅力を一層際立たせているのは、何と言っても福田洋也（g）の手掛けた楽曲である。どれも佳曲揃いで
個人的には非常に気に入っている。
キャッチーなコーラスが印象的な（１）、へヴィなリフとダークな雰囲気の（３）、
そして当時のスピード至上主義を掲げたスラッシュメタルバンド群に対する、ANTHEMからの回答と言うべき高速メロディアス・チューン（５）。
LIVEで一層その威力を発揮する躍動感溢れる（７）等、非の打ち所がないクオリティである。
１stアルバムリリース後の過酷なツアーにより、更にタイトに成ったBANDサウンドと、驚異的な成長を遂げ別人の様に逞しくなった坂本英三（vo）の唄にも注目！

今回のRE‐MASTER版には未発表曲の（９）（10）が収録されているのがファンには嬉しいところである。

4.0 out of 5 stars ヒロヤの曲が多い異色のアルバム, 2008/5/2
1986年発売のアンセムの2ndアルバム。名盤と言いたい。
本作ではGu.福田洋也(ヒロヤ)の曲が半数を占め、アンセム史上、ヒロヤ色が最も濃く出ている。ある意味で異色のアルバムともいえる。
ヒロヤの曲は、独特のドライヴ感にあふれたギタープレイが明快で心地良い。メインソングライター柴田直人の曲に比べて、サビのインパクトが弱い傾向が感じられるが、逆に歌詞の言葉一つ一つが印象に残る感じがあり、興味深い。
一方、柴田直人の曲はまさに少数精鋭。「NIGHT AFTER NIGHT」や「TIGHTROPE DANCER」などインパクトのある佳曲が揃い、本作で強いアクセントとなっている。
坂本英三のヴォーカルは、1stに比べて声が太くなり、安定感が増し、安心して聴ける。
個人的に好きな曲は、バンドの勢いを感じる「BLACK EYED TOUGH」、Gソロが印象的な「LIGHT IT UP」、そしてオープニングを飾るスピードナンバー「VICTIM IN YOUR EYES」。
この20周年記念リマスター盤のボーナストラックには未発表曲「STILL I'M IN CHAIN」を含め、計5曲が収録され、ファンの買い換え意欲をそそっている。

福田洋也(G)の存在感が最も大きかった時代のアルバム。

オリジナルCD盤全9曲のうち5曲を福田が作曲していて、なかなかの佳曲揃いだ。
そして、曲調が柴田(B)が作る楽曲と異なっていて興味深い。

つまり、柴田の曲は性格にもよるのだろうが、キッチリと律儀にギター・リフ、ヴォーカル・メロディ、リズム隊の決め所を推敲して積み上げていっている感じがするのに対し、
福田の曲は、自由奔放に流れるような勢いで展開しており、直観的なひらめきと感覚を推進力に作られたと思われる。

以降のギタリストの存在感の希薄化と歩調を合わせた感のある曲のバリエーション及び独創性の欠如の原因はこのあたりにあるのだろう。
