これは特殊素材を使用して「音が格段に良くなった」と言う宣伝が売りの高価格盤ですが、笑わせてもらいました。もとがＳＰ盤からの復刻で針音バチバチのソースにまで｢高音質」対象としてわざわざ高く売る・・・今のレコード会社の断末魔の叫びが聞こえるようです。オーディオが趣味の私の装置で旧盤と聞き比べても、その違いはほんのわずかですので、これくらいならトーン・コントロールで十分調整が出来る範囲だと感じました。内容は素晴らしいので、だまされずに同じ内容の安い盤を迷わずかいましょう。できれば輸入盤のほうが、値段もマスタリングのセンスもよいのでおすすめします。星の数は演奏ではなく値段に対してです。演奏は満点をつけたいと思います。

生演奏を個人が録音したものなので音質には期待できませんが、
演奏の内容がとにかくすばらしいです。
これは1949年1月2月ローマで録音されたもので、名曲「Minor Swing」も収録されています。

ジャンゴは、戦前から戦後にフランスで活躍したジプシー出身のギタリストです。ジプシーとは、ヨーロッパの南部を中心に生活する流浪の民のことで、しばしば差別や迫害の対象となりました。旅から旅の生活を続けるジプシーの人たちにとって、音楽は生活の一部で、旅芸人として、音楽で生活する人々も多かったようです。このアルバムは、1949年にローマのクラブ出演の際、録音されたリーダー・アルバム。ステファン・グラッペリとの再会セッションとして有名。1曲目の「マイナースイング」は、彼の十八番だそうで名演奏です。ジャンゴのギターは、洒落たシャンソンやジプシー音楽の流れを感じさせます。
