まず、「in silence」の激しい出だしで、ぐっと心が引き寄せられる。yasuの苦手とするローヴォイス、全英詩だが、今までに無い新しい感じで非常に良い仕上がりだ。
続く「ツメタイカゲロウ」は温存していたというだけあって、初期のジャンヌらしいジャンヌ王道の一曲。yasuの声に非常によく合っているし、サビも一度聞いたら忘れない。
「月光花」は、ファンならば聞き飽きるくらい聞いただろう大ヒットシングル曲。うーん、改めて聞くとやっぱり良い曲。
「D DROP」はなんといっても最初のギターが鳥肌ものだ。ちなみに、武道館ライブではラストを飾った。
「HELL or HEAVEN」は少し印象が薄いのだが、歌詞の韻を踏んでいるのに注目。「仮面」は一風変わったkiyoの曲で、音数が抑えめ。一度目はイマイチだったが、何度も聞くと意外に良さが解る、するめ曲かもしれない。
「I'm so happy」は、もう妬けてくるくらいに幸せなノロケの曲。ポップで底なしに明るくて、スキップしたくなるような曲だ。幸せな恋人同士にオススメ。
「WILD FANG」はロックマンのゲームの主題歌になっただけあり、ロックマンのイメージぴったりの激しいサウンド。途中のkiyoのソロはFIFAワールドカップの曲を連想させる。
「easy funky crazy」はサビがイマイチ普通の展開なのだが、easy funky crazy！と叫ぶところは○。
そしてなんといっても、「Mr.Trouble Maker」！youのギターソロが炸裂。yasuの低めの声は色気さえ感じる。アップテンポでロック色の強い、ファン大満足の秀作だろう。
後半は「Love is Here」「風にのって」とメロディラインの美しい切ない系が続くが、最後は後味の良い「ダイヤモンドヴァージン」で一気に駆け抜ける。
最後のギターの余韻がたまらない。ジャンヌの進化を感じさせるアルバムだ。

はっきり言ってしまえばこのアルバムはシングル曲よりアルバムの曲の方が圧倒的に良い。ヒットした『月光花』からのファンにはすこし刺激が強すぎるくらい、彼らのずば抜けた演奏力が炸裂したアルバム。

ロックアルバム！と声を大にして言いたい位の重厚で疾走感のある曲で溢れていると思わせておきながら、ジンとくるバラード『風にのって』やポップで弾けた『I'm so happy』など、非常にバランスの良いアルバムに仕上がっている。
彼らのロック曲好きな自分は『ツメタイカゲロウ』、『D　DROP』『Mr.Troublemaker』に打ちのめされた。

ギターサウンド好きにも、ポップス好きにもオススメできる一枚。
最近の邦楽にはなかなか見当たらない、『売り上げと内容が一致している』アルバムです。

何気なく行き当たりバッタリで買って、彼らの過去の音源全てに手を出す羽目になった記念すべきアルバムです。ヒット曲「月光花」すら聴いたこともなかったような状態だったのに・・・。もの凄くメロディラインがキャッチーで、聴きやすいので、すぐ飽きるかと思いきや、ドンどこドンどこ新たな魅力が溢れ出し、もうびっくりしました。というか、今もびっくりしています。特に、I「Mr.Trouble Maker」・・・。最初はノリのいい曲だなあ〜ぐらいで聴いていたんですが、なんのなんの。中でも、間奏部分のギターとベースのかけあいから、ギターのスケール（？・・すみません、用語は不正確だと思います・・・。バラバラバラッと降りてくる感じの）に雪崩れ込み、歌に続く部分は、何度聴いても圧巻です。強烈で濃いアルバム曲の多い中、「I'm so happy」のような曲がさりげなくあるセンスにも脱帽します。こんな可愛らしくて、甘〜い歌詞の曲を好きになった事なんかなかったのに、素直に引き込まれてしまいました。ボーカルさんの、伸びやかで透き通った声が、嬉しくなるくらいに響いて、始まった瞬間、全てがパアッと明るくなるような素晴らしい曲です。弦楽器や打楽器をやったことのない私には、上手下手を評価する音楽的知識はありません。ただ、聴いてる者を圧倒する音楽を奏でる事は、技術力が備わっていないと出来ないのではないかと思っています。であれば、ジャンヌダルクは、文句なしに”巧い”バンドです。アイドル曲みたいな曲をやっている時でもカッコいいのが、何よりも彼らの凄さを物語ってます。
