このアクエリオンという作品、巷では大絶賛する者と、わかりにくさを訴える者とに分かれるようだ。判らない理由の大半が「どこまでがギャグで、どこまで真面目なのかわからない」と言うもの。

お答えしましょう。「全部ギャグ」です！
世界を取り巻く危機的状況、敵味方の巨大ロボット、宗教色の強いデザイン、地球再生機構ディーバ、やたら熱血な不動司令・・・この緻密で壮大な世界観はすべて、それを少しずらして、笑いを創出するためのものなのだ。
作中では、主役メカのアクエリオンや美形キャラのシリウスが、ことさら無様な恰好や役回りを負わさるし、自身満々な不動司令は、大真面目な顔をして荒唐無稽な精神論を展開する。これらはすべて、「ずらし」による笑いを狙ったものだ。

さて、ではなぜ笑いに拘るのか。
勿論、泣かせるためである。人間は、感情の振幅が大きくなった時に感動を覚えるものだ。大笑いして感情のガードが弛んだ後に感動的なエピソードを盛り込めば、「泣き」の効果は何倍にも増幅される。

では、なぜ泣かせたいのか。
それは、作中に展開させる、河森監督独特の哲学や精神世界を、より強く印象づけ、聴取者にインプットするためである。ファンは毎回、大笑いし、ホロリとしてから、その回の内容を反芻し、荒唐無稽だとばかり思っていた不動司令の精神論（監督が提示する主題）が、意外に説得力を持つことに気付くのである。

菅野よう子さんの音楽はすばらしい！！もうなんでこんな音楽が作れるのかな？作品に合わせて作る天才だね。そして映像もすばらしいです。基本的にはヒーローロボアクション的なノリですね。教官がいて指示して、ロボで出撃、やっつけるみたいな。まあ、それだけではない話もありますが。演出、映像もこれで予算がもつのか心配なくらいすばらしいです。ロボットが合体するときの演出は、子供には見せられませんね。というか「なんでこのお姉さん、気持ち良いの？」なんて聞かれても、どう答えたら良いのでしょうか？

始めはまったく期待しておりませんでしたが、第一話をみて、
続きがとても気になってしまい、今に至ります。
ＯＰとＥＤ音楽を菅野よう子さんが手がけております。
あいかわらず、幻想的で”菅野さんらしい”です。
一度耳につくと、なかなか忘れられず（笑
そしてもうひとつ、赤面しそうなセリフがありますｗ
初めてきいたとき、「ぶはｗ」と噴出しました( 'Д`)
今までにないアニメに仕上がっております。
声優の皆様も大変ですねｗ
映像も綺麗で、大変満足しております。
メカもキャラも個性的で毎回楽しみにしています。
