街道シリーズの３作目です。
首都高シリーズと同じく、夜な夜な集まるライバル達とバトルをし、資金をためて改造、またバトルをしていくゲームです。コースは、実在する峠が舞台です。

北海道から九州熊本まで、全国的にも有名なコースを20コース収録と大幅に追加。
テクニカル主体の群馬県碓氷峠「めがね橋」や広島県野呂山から覗く「瀬戸内海」等。さらにグラベルコースの設定により、飽きの来ないコースもあるようです。

また、ストーリー性の追加することにより、ライバルが約400人出現。車種も260と大幅スケールアップ。
その他進化した要素で、やり込み要素の高い新搭載のRECORD TOURモード、難易度自動調整システム、カッティングシートを採用することで簡単にドレスアップ等々。

シミュレーターではなく、純粋にレースゲームが好きな方な人向いていると思います。
“やりこみ派”向けの要素が多数あり、ボリューム満点でオススメします。

街道の新作！！
かなり期待していました！！
・・・でもＰＬＡＹをして普通にがっかりしました。
コースは狭いわ、サイドは効き悪いわ、
逆ハンきっても全然逆ハンと違うし。
こんな運転、全然リアリティないやん！！って思いました。
まぁ初心者はこれを買っても何も思わないと思いますが、
街道２をプレイした人には、正直あまりおすすめできません！
操作性、ＢＧＭ、コースは２のほうがよかった！！！
まぁ、この新作のよかった点を挙げるなら、
オープニングムービーの綺麗さと、パーツが多いというか
少し細かく選べるようになったことぐらいです。
この新作を買おうと思うなら、よく考えて買ってください！！

内容(ゲームとしての)はいいけど,なんといってもエアロパーツの少なさには少しガッカリした。あとコースに突然でてくるダートの路面は何ともいえない。特にミッドシップなんてまともに走られなくなる。でもゲームとしてはかなり面白いからあえてこの評価で。
