19世紀末のイギリスを舞台にした、伝統と革新のブリティッシュ・ロマンス・アニメ『英國戀物語エマ』のオリジナル・サウンドトラック盤。音楽は『十二国記』も手がけた梁邦彦が担当している。

「エマ」は音楽も良い！と思っていたので、サントラも聴きました。
しっとりした曲が多いので、癒しの音楽として最高だと思います！
車の運転BGMには向きませんが、眠る前のBGMには良いですよ。
エマファンなら買い！です。(アニメを見ていない原作ファンも買って欲しい！！ｗ)

全体で46分少々と短めですが、全体のバランスを考えるとちょうどいい長さかもしれません。
いろんなシチュエーションの曲が混在するサントラの中で、落ち着いて聴けるサントラはめずらしいと思います。

オープニング(01曲目)とエンディング(05曲目)を含む19曲が収録されています。

テレビアニメーション「英國戀物語エマ」のオリジナル
サウンドトラック。

毎週この番組は観ており、エンディングテーマ曲「Menuet
for EMMA」が印象に残っている。
全体的にクラシックを主体とした曲調で、リラックスした
い時、ティータイムの時などに最適である。
曲構成は大きく分けて２部に分かれている。「Silhouette
of a Breeze」や「Menuet for EMMA」などのメインテーマ
曲を様々なバージョンで演奏するものと、この作品の背景
を支えるものがある。
総合的に刺激的な音楽はなく、雄大で甘美であるため、聴
く環境や状況によっては、適さない面もあるが、アニメー
ションで、これだけの構成はなかなか類を見ない。

曲制作スタッフのところに、コンピューターのプログラミン
グで制作したと明記されていたが、音質はとても安定して
おり、レンジが広い。
高品位オーディオで再生しても、刺激がなく非常にスムーズ
な再生が確認できた。大型のシステムで再生しても安定した
音質が望めるだろう。

物語の舞台となった１９世紀の英国の息吹をも感じさせてくれる
極めて質の高い音楽の数々…
アニメ版エマを見ていない方にも聴いて欲しいくらい
質の高い音楽集です。
Silhouette of a BreezeやEmma、Menuet for Emma、solitudeは、
演奏楽器を変えたアレンジバージョンも収録されていますが、
楽器が変われば曲の持つ雰囲気がこれだけ変わるという
音楽の持つ「無限の可能性」をも感じさせます。

ライナーノーツの充実度という点では若干不満はありますが、
それを差し引いても星５つの評価の作品です。
